How is she milking the system? Maintenance (child) is not declarable for CTC.

    Just a question....

Say if somebody had a reasonably wealthy ex partner, and they were receiving £300 pw in maintenance, this would not be declared on any benefits?

    Yes that's I meant when I said I wasn't sure.

If the OP uses entitledto like others suggested it does ask for rents & council tax, but this is for other related benefits, not tax credits which are income based.
I must have missed that post then  perhaps you could point it out to me?

Child maintenance is not delcarable as income for ctc purposes, however I do believe there are certain procedures/depts that deal with excessive payments so they asses how much of it is CM as such.

No idea about any other benefits.

    Liam's got it wrong:

entitledto does ask about rent and council tax. It doesn't say anywhere that TCs take this into account. However, when claiming HB / LHA / CTB, TCs are taken into account.

Whoo what have i started!! I was just wondering is there was a bit in the ctc renewal form to put that we were paying maintenance for my stepdaughter. As for what i said about her mother milking the system, she runs her own company (cash in hand). While claiming sickness benefit. She also has a council property which she sublets at a profit while she stays with her boyfriend and my stepdaughter stays with her gran.Thats what i meant by milking the system.Sorry i never put that in the first post.

As i have said it will directly affect my stepdaughter. I know its not right what she is doing. But its caused so many arguments in my house between me and dh, i would report her and he thinks its nothing to do with us, she is advertising her business and will get caught without us getting involved.Karma is his motto!!

What have I got wrong? I thought it had already been cleared up in other posts?
