The OP clearly stated that the trolly was abscured from view by parked cars. I've already likened it to a child jumping out from between parked cars. I'm not sure that implying the OP deliberately got their car damaged by a shopping trolly in very helpful. Whilst I think we can accept that the OP, in all probability based the information available, wasn't to blame, that doesn't automatically lead to the owner of the trolly being at fault. Sometimes, shlt happens.

    Abscured?...is that a word?

Yes. It means pretty much the same as "obscured", but it's typed with slightly more care.

See..... Now if you've ever moaned at a partner for parking his/her car well away from the store or being very picky about where he/she parks, this is a great example of just one of the silly things that can happen.

With stray trolley's, I normally spot them and move them myself before they have chance to get blown around in the wind! Most people think "look at that, some lazy git hasn't put thier trolley back" and in the same breath "Im not moving that, I didn't put it there".

The very first time I got sick of the moaning and parked near to the shop (just to keep the peace), some old fart crashed into my car.....

Well if it isn't some idiots opening their doors into your car creating mucho dents, it's a shopping trolley.

Our back light was damaged in a Tesco car park by a runaway trolley and totally smashed the plastic, we had a note left on the car saying what had happened while we were inside shopping but like above there's not much you can do about it...Our is a motorbility car so there goes the £200 good condition bonus at the end of the 3 years.

so the same as everyone else then, you either fix it or accept the car is worth less
or do you feel you shouldnt have to worry about such things?

Cars in supermarket carparks get knocked my trolleys. They also get scraped by people walking between them.

This is a fact of owning a motor vehicle.

    Accept it and move on.

As anyone considered it could of been a plain clothes shopping trolley on a cover mission?
Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.

Was it sporting blues and 2's in which case the op should have given way, ;)
