Car damaged by a Shopping Trolley

You could always replace the plastic.0

They're three feet long, a foot and a half to two foot wide and two and a half foot high, bright silver and hardly unnoticable.
It was hidden from view by parked cars, so it's colour and detailed physical dimensions would also have been hidden from view. Think of it like a kid running out between 2 parked cars. Easy enough to guess his height and age, but you still might hit him!0 -
See..... Now if you've ever moaned at a partner for parking his/her car well away from the store or being very picky about where he/she parks, this is a great example of just one of the silly things that can happen.
With stray trolley's, I normally spot them and move them myself before they have chance to get blown around in the wind! Most people think "look at that, some lazy git hasn't put thier trolley back" and in the same breath "Im not moving that, I didn't put it there".
The very first time I got sick of the moaning and parked near to the shop (just to keep the peace), some old fart crashed into my car.....“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Hello, whilst leaving a Matalan car park today my car was hit by a stray shopping trolley causing damage to the back of my car (car is scratched/dented and the paint work is now peeling) there is nothing we could’ve done to have avoided being hit as the trolley was hidden by cars and the first we saw of it was when it hit our car.
We have spoken to the store that owned the trolley and they are saying there is nothing they can do, even though they have failed to keep the car park free for stray trolleys. Do any of you know if we can make a claim against them or if they are obliged to pay for the damage?
Thanks
Two things spring to mind:-
1. The trolley chased you?
2. Your paint is now peeling? Now already?0 -
^^ Could be partly damaged on the bumper, once that starts to go the paint just flakes off.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

The trolley rolled into us whilst exiting the car parkApproach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0

I just can't picture this at all...You're driving out of the carpark and a stray trolley runs out behind you from between two parked cars at sufficient pace to a) catch up to you and b) make a substantial impact on your car.
What am I missing?0 -
