what do you think your unemployment rate would have been in the 1950s or 1960s then?Nope. Some are stay at home mums who don't/can't claim benefits (partner earning too much etc), those that cannot work but can't claim benefits because they've got too much in savings etc.

Private pension, no benefits and 10 years to go until state pension age and I've been retired 5 years.
OH will be the same next year, but with 8 years until state pension -
technically economically inactive.....I wish!!0 -

Can someone tell me how this government is going to get all these people back to work? Let alone try to get those on invalidity benefit back into work. I don't think the workshy need to worry to much!
