A Beginner's Guide to Economic Indicators
Three Timing Types of Economic Indicators
Lagged: A lagged economic indicator is one that does not change direction until a few quarters after the economy does. The unemployment rate is a lagged economic indicator as unemployment tends to increase for 2 or 3 quarters after the economy starts to improve.0 -

I didn't say all of the 2.5 million people out of work are workshy, most of them want to work but for those who don't they don't need to worry too much about finding a job.0 -

Unemployment heading towards 3 million. Recovery is a long, long way off.
Almost 2.5 million unemployed and thats before the cuts have even begun. :eek:0 -

How about we send all the immigrants home & force them to take up their positions??
Now there is a thought....
Or we could get Tesco to build a store in every village & get them working there?
Or we could get the councils to whack up their headcounts 2.5m & there is no excuse for sitting on your a*se.
Or we could get BMW to invest in a factory to produce a very expensive uneconomical car...
Or we could go over to China & force the closure of all its exporting manufacturing facilities & open them up again in the North East..
Or we could reduce Capital Gains Tax & Income tax to zero after £40k to encourage investment...
Or .........Not Again0 -

In cloud cuckoo land (where chucky resides) everything is going to be just fine. The lib-cons are going to sort it all out. Banks will soon be lending huge amounts to businesses and the end result will see a massive recruitment drive (even if the manufaturing sector has gone to pot and the public sector is facing huge cuts)0 -
