Thanks. My main concern is whether the insurance company are likely to be awkward or not, in the event of a claim, when the policy is for 4 people but the booking details show 5 people0

im looking to buy annual travel insurance for this years trips to benidorm, ibiza, usa and a cruise.
after reading reviews of each company i was considering to purchase from (staysure, insureandgo, aviva), they all have horrible reviews from people who have had extreme difficulty in claiming. i dont care if i cant\have trouble claiming for my I phone i might loose while abroad i just want to know i wont encounter difficulty in a serious medical emergency
p.s most of peoples reviews on sites are of how easy it was to apply online or how good 'dave' on the phone was at taking their money off them!!! no, i want hear reviews good and bad in the event of a claim!0 -
Im with insure and go. I got quite sick in NYC and needed to go and see a doctor for antibiotics. After going to 2 urgent care centres who said they dont take travel insurance and a hospital who wouldnt tell me the costs upfront i phone them up for help. They put me in touch with a recognised urgent care centre, had their used company phone me and ensure that i had everything in place to just turn up and get the very much needed antibiotics.
I didnt have to pay an extra penny (i do have excess waiver though) and they were so helpful.0 -
If you are looking to buy Staysure insurance I recommend hesitating. My hubby was getting quotes as he has some health problems and when he didn't take the Staysure quote up straight away they offered him a 10% discount code. Then they emailed him a 15% discount code. So I recommend asking for a quote and hesitating!0

Having a real problem with AXA - took out a multi trip policy, became ill in Spain (seriosly) called AXA and because I did not have a return ticket booked they said I was not covered.
I drove to Spain to stay with friends and had not booked the ferry back. I was way under my allocated days.
Anyway after stress, worry ontop of being ill, I did go to the hospital, over night stay, test etc I disputed the claim with AXA but they never showed me in the policy where it said I was not covered if I did not have a return ticket. Single trip policy OK not covered, but the multi trip was. They have now said they are looking into the claim with the underwritters but I wanted to know if there is someone else I could make a complant too.0 -

Hi
I'm looking for a single-trip policy to cover me and my 3 kids who will be holidaying in Crete for 10 days. The 'problem' with finding a family policy is that my kids are all adults in their twenties (two working, one student; and temporarily all living at home ). Is there a company who caters for this scenario, or is it going to be a case of having to buy 4 individual policies?0 -
Hi all
Has anyone got any recommendations for a reasonably priced but good cover for Holiday insurance which accepts a cancellation due to service commitments as I am a serving member of the armed forces.
Thank you in advance of your responses :rotfl:0 -
Members of the Armed forces know which companies offer cover specifically designed for this scenario, e.g. https://www.forcesmutual.org/insurance/travel-insurance/
And ericthelobster, you really are best off getting individual travel policies. Your kids are over 18 so should really have their own insurance. Hope you have a great time in Crete. We've just got back and had a few days of 40+degrees.0
