Afternoon everybody,
Bitsy-hope you are OK today.
NPM glad N was fine when he got back.
Hugs to those who are under the weather.
Been washing & ironing all morning, but I'm a bit warm now.Mind you ,that could be the hm chicken broth I've just eaten. Not really the weather for it-its gorgeous and warm, but there was a bit left from yesterday & didnt want to waste it.
Tea ,I think, is going to be chicken risotto for 3,and prob tuna salad for DS2.The BM is on,been a bit lax with it for a couple of days while we've been tarting up the house for the E Agents photos-even bought a loaf, :eek:but mine is much nicer.DS2 will clear the bought loaf-he's been starving since he got back from the festival- seems like he existed for 3 days on a sausage butty a day and copious amounts of beer.
I'm off into the garden now for some gentle weeding.Hope you all have a good day.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Hi
I have a bit of a problem, I have made a huge pan of spag bol but the wine I have used must have been a bit off because it tastes like I have added vinegar, does anyone have a solution please otherwise it will have to be binned:(
I don't leave many messages but I do read the thread daily and love all the chat and advice.
On a gardening front I have just started picking my strawberries adn I have cut mu first lunch box cucumber
WW start date 31/8/2011 :j
weight lost so far:- 32lbs :T0 -
I always add a little sugar to spag bol, as I find it brings out the taste of the tomatoes -maybe that would help?0

Hester I take it congratulations are in order :T:T
Glad to see I am not the only one who's missed Hesters news. Congrats to your DD :T:T
What can I say? You can't wipe the smile of my face after being so down in the dumps yesterday. You are all so lovely and it's fabulous that I am friends with so many of you on FB
If there is anyone that wants to be "friends" (gosh I feel like a 6 year old saying that LOL) then drop a PM if you can't [STRIKE]stalk [/STRIKE] find me via another MSE member.
Been busy morning today. Went to garden centre to get some bamboo canes to support my mesh for the veggie patch. Done one load of washing, towels currently in at the mo. Have dusted most of the downstairs, need to vac but just sat down to have some lunch.
DS didn't want to go to school again
:( I don't know what's up with him - I ask him why and he can't really say. He's really clingy for his dad (he was sobbing his heart out last night as I was putting him to bed and not his dad). Is this his ASD? Is he going to get worse?? I wish he came with an instruction manual as I feel half the time at the moment I don't know what to do with him
Anyway tea tonight will be a makeshift as it's tap night tonight :T
Taplady - Happy Birthday to Taplord - hope he has a good day.
N9eav - sorry to hear your teens have been giving you trouble.
NPM - Bless Noah he makes me want to give him a big squeeze. Glad he's back home safe and sound
JackieG - you really shouldn't be suffering in silence. Get yourself to the Dr's and insist on something. Have they said how long you will have til you're fully recovered?
JC - hope they back off and leave you all in peace. Hmmmmm no evidence and yet still believing in hearsay and rumours
esmf - Ooooh DS has already insisted on watching The Polar Express last week, saw some fir trees at the garden centre and was calling them Christmas Trees :rotfl: Now you're mentioning shopping for the C word.......it's coming faster than I want (and I love Christmas :rotfl:)
MrsMH - Welcome back........I shall be off to see the real MH in November. Can't wait :T
Apologies if I have missed anyone. Have a lovely day in the sunshine. Hugs to those that need them xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Bitsy....have you asked at school if anything has happened/ has the routine changed/are they doing something he is struggling with? Noah does this kind of thing and seems unable to tell us what is wrong....then you find out weeks later:o. There is usually a reason why they are behaving like this but it can take a while to find out what:cool:0

I asked one of the teachers on Monday. Nothing has changed. He was like this when it was Xmas and they spent lots of time rehearsing so it wasn't normal routine. It started around the time that they had Foundation Week and nursery and reception spent the week doing things together but that was a month ago and things have gone back to normal since then. I would have expected him to have got over it by now. He just seems worse at the moment, especially with his dad. He doesn't want him to go to work etc - just being really clingy which is not like him.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

is it anything to do with half term holiday? The school hols always unsettle Noah.
I know from friends of mine that this book is a brilliant help for kids like your DS who are on the "milder" end of the spectrum

Thanks that looks like a good book to have.
I don't think the half term had an effect really. I honestly don't know what's triggered this latest round of clingy-ness. Hope it's s short phase :cool:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Afternoon all
Thanks for all the congratulations for DD, it's a long way off yet, but never too early to do things that save money.
I've felt very dizzy all day so I'll try for an early night tonight.
Pasta bake is already to be slung in the remoska, then I shall do an hours crochet & then bed.
Have a good evening all.
Hester

Hi everyone,
I'm feeling very stressed at the moment so haven't posted for a while because OS has slipped. It's due to one particular person who is utterly obnoxious (not just to me) and I have to deal with him. It's making me feel ill and upset and I'm cross with myself for letting him get to me like this.
DD has gone down to London to catch up with friends after her 6 months away. She has taken over two bedrooms - one to sleep in and the other to explode her possessions over! She's usually quite tidy, I don't know what's happened.
I think it will be gammon, wedges and beans for dinner tonight as it's just the two of us and I'll make a chicken pie with the rest of the rubber chicken we had on Sunday for tomorrow when DD is home.
I also need to do the ironing because we are going away for the weekend to bury MIL's ashes.0
