Hi chums have had a brilliant day with lots of bargains from John Lewis at Bluewater .Kenwood eco kettle over £20 off cos it had no box, and lots of other bargains.I just felt like a little retail therapy today as I had some vouchers to spend .I treated myself to lunch, and when it didn't arrive in 20 minutes qustioned one of the 'suits ' as to where it was and was given lunch with compliments of John Lewis and profuse apologies Well done JLP I shall sing your praises all day today .
DD texted me to say she had lost half a pound this week at w/w so she was slightly happier than last week.
I have done no housework at all today as I'm having a day off.My kettle is brilliant as it can boil a cup or two at a time so saves on the electric and boils very quickly. I am going to try my new puchase from Lakeland that i bought today for a light supper tonight They are 'poached egg pockets' and the lakeland lady assured me they were really good As I always make a pigs ear of poaching eggs I'm hoping this will be if not fool-proof then 'JackieO-proof'
The sun is shining at last here today although the wind is a bit sharp.Right I'm off to have a very quickly boiled cuppa from my new kettle
    Cheers chums xx

    Hey everyone,
Bitsy i sent you a pm did you get it? It's only about the third one I have ever sent so I don't really know what I am doing! My soon to be new housekeeper rung today, she sounds lovely, really down to earth and chatty which is exactly what I requested. My puppies go on puppy pads in the house to do their 1's and 2's. Do you think it would be cheeky to ask her to change them when she comes? Hugs to all x x x x x
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!

Well all you can do is ask. I suppose if it's part of the housekeeping that you'd normally do then I don't see why you can't ask.

No tap tonight - it's an open evening for parents of reception children (in September) so will be going to that instead.......oh well can't be helped.

Thanks for all the friends requests - my H will be complaining next that I am glued to the lappy :o

    Afternoon all

NPM - so glad Noah is home safe and that he enjoyed, hope you enjoyed your break too.
    HH - congrats re DD!

Today flew at work. We had a meeting with our big big boss about new changes coming in 2011. Afterwards we all got the chance to speak privately with him if we wanted. I raised the fact that I am looking at doing the PGCE and whether there would be any funding available and he said he would get back to me by end of week so finger's crossed!

My boss has agreed to release me for the weds afternoons to do the PGCE, it just needs HQ approval but there should be no issues with that :j:j

Then we spend the afternoon playing footie in the park :D my kind of work! I was going to go to the gym after work but didn't need to after running round with teenage boys for an hour in the sunshine! :rotfl:

I'm off to make my cheese pie now :D

    Have a great evening all

He really wouldn't care, in fact he probably would see it as a victory. He has a very long history of being unpleasant to people he sees as underlings, anyway he's taking up too much of my time and energy at the moment so I'm going to try to forget him. DH wants to go and talk to him (I work in the same place we live so he knows him) bit I've told him not to, I think it will only make things worse.
  • Snoozer sorry someone is making you unhappy:( I would try to put it out of your mind if there is nothing you can do....don`t let it stress you.

Flutterby good news about your PGCE:T it sounds promising for your employers to contribute so fingers crossed:D

    congrats to Granny Hester(to be):D:beer:

    Evening everybody

Snoozer, sorry you have someone who is making you unhappy.

Congrats to Hester, how exciting being a Granny!

JackieG you had better get to the doctors - could your fall have anything to do with making things worse? Been having a few problems myself (just my age I think) and decided to phone the doctors today. Can only get an appointment in a month's time unless I phone at 8.30 in the morning for an 'on the day' appointment. Thought that was for emergencies only but apparently not. Oh the mysteries of the doctor's surgery!!

N9eav - hope things are sorted with the dreaded teenagers.

NPM - bet you're glad to have Noah home.

JackieO - great to have a bit of retail therapy and your bargain makes it even better.

Washing all dried outside and folded, not much ironing to do. Cycled home in some unbearable heat this afternoon and thought I was going to explode at one point. Thank goodness I have to do a bit by the Loch side so there was a nice breeze! Tea was various veggies cooked outside, very yummy.

Having an early night tonight - have horrendous hayfever and was out in Glasgow seeing Spamalot last night. It was a great night and the show was hilarious, haven't laughed at anything so daft for ages. A bit of a late night though so feeling a bit tired now (what a lightweight!).

Hope you are all well and those feeling poorly or down feel better soon. Take care

    Evening all,

Has been a lovely day here and OH and I got lots of elder flowers, will leave it until after weekend to make the champagne and cordial, last time we made it there was no problem until we decided to drink it....champagne 'exploded' and we ended up with half an inch of liquid in bottom of each bottle!

JC....glad that things seem to be improving for you all.

HH...congratulations and good health to DD

NPM....glad all went well with Noah's holiday.

JackieG....Look after yourself...there is IMHO no virtue in suffering pain

JackieO...Glad you had a good day....love the sound of that kettle, OH fills ours even if only to make tea for himself and laughs at me when I say anything.

N9eav...having put 7 teenagers through my hands you have my sympathy, glad to hear that OH is getting some work.

Flutterby....sounds like as if things might go well for you.

Happy birthday to Taplord, hope the cake was nice.....only problem is I now want one!

    Snoozer....hugs, been there, done that.

Bitsy....glad to hear that you feel better to-day....not sure if I have yet got to you on Facebook but will in time, can't really take to it as others seem to have done so only visit now and again.

OH gone to bed an hour ago, think I will have an early night (before midnight) myself as need to have a few things done before DD4 comes in the morning to bring me hunting for garden furniture, am buying it for her birthday, have given her the money but I am apparently needed to help with the decision of which one to buy....29 going on 7.

Going to take clothes off line, tidy kithen and maybe knit for a bit before I go to bed.

Hugs to all who are MIA, come back soon please.

    Afternoon everyone :)

I skived off work today as I felt rough this morning so wandered to the village fabric store to cheer myself up. I bought some lovely heavy cotton with bright stripes on it and some felt.

Just had a lady come to collect one of my wedding cake stands after an ebay clearout at the weekend. I've shouted at the bank and the building society today as well as they've lost a cheque I gave them. Laundry done, hoovered, just finishing off some folksy stuff to clear the decks before the exam marking shows up.

I'm trying to work out whether or not to write to Waitrose, as yesterday I had one of the staff make sarky comments about me buying YS stuff - thinking I was out of earshot. Normally I wouldn't be so upset by things like that, but I'm feeling a bit low atm and I'd had a carp day at work. I didn't have the strength to confront her there and then, so just walked off, but it's still winding me up a day later.

Outlaws have gone, thank god. It was awful - it just seems to get worse every time. Everything irks me. They just have no manners at all and I hate that (I do expect, for example, people not to eat half a jar of jam out of the jar with a spoon, not to eat roast dinner with their fingers, not to mash food at the table.... I know they are only tiny things, but they drive me to distracation.) I wish they'd just not interfere with my stuff as well. I don't poke around in their stuff when I visit and I expect the same courtesy. It's got to the stage now where I just wait for things and am all spiky and uncomfortable all of the time.

Huge thank you to those of you that posted messages on my facebook wall when the outlaws were here - that really cheered me up! cel x
