i got my fingers burned(imo) too by these 2 companies, first and last time i will ever go for a "free trial" which of course was too good to be true...i was told by my bank also that these companies can take anything they want out of your account even if youve cancelled and i was advised to cancel and get a new card which i did.
stupid girl!*note to self* no more internet shopping...:mad:0 -
My father was also affected by this scam. This is what we have found so far.
The Gleamify product is supplied by:
CYC Marketing Limited
0845 603 6469
We called them and were able to confirm cancellation of future orders. We have not pushed for a refund because it is hard to prove they were misleading us.
The other product (which varies in name and payments are taken in both Euros and Dollars)
Coincrete (UK) Ltd
Rastrums Industrial Estate
Unit F
Harbour Road
Rye
East Sussex
TN31 7TE
01424 797979
We called them and they were VERY unhelpful. They confess to only being the distributor for the goods and are not involved in the sales process. They will also will not take calls regarding the product because their 'client' has not paid for the service!
We asked them for contact details of their client and they were very reticent, again repeating the same story that it's not their product and they are unable to provide customer service.
They also said that we would have received contact details when the order for the tooth whitening kits was first purchased. We obviously no longer have that and there is no paperwork in the envelope with the product when it arrives.
This company is protecting its client despite the fact they are ripping people off.
We have since spoken to consumer direct and have lodged a Fraud Report with 'Action Fraud'.
Barclays bank have also been very unhelpful on this matter stating that even if the bank account is closed we'll still be liable for future payments when the account is reopened!!!
Anyone else who can suggest steps forward to halt this scam would very welcome to share their knowledge. So far it seems like they are skirting the limits of the law by providing contact details in the first instance of order but then hiding their identity with orders to prevent cancellations.0 -
Took some time (6 months) but had to keep up the pressure and now finally resolved with money back in account...
Many thanks to GOOD old Nationwide BS...MSE....and other " suggestions."..
First and last time...............Never again...avoid0
