The member claiming to be sueuing tesco over a pack of caprisun drinks go ahead. I think your first port of call should be trading standards and see what they do. I think I can speak for most people on here and we have all had a misprice go wrong, we dont complain we quietly get a refund if we dont want the item and only wanted it becasue it was free, leave the store and contact TS I know I do. The reasons behind this is that becomming know to any store isnt good the easiest way to become known is to spend alot of time at CS arguing you will be talked about and by staff or managers if you argue with a manager. I now most stores have a team of managers and a manager is usually called for items over £20. now forgive me if Im wrong the big r+r's we all want are big TV's, computers and games machines the high value stuff.
Now how !!!!!! off would you be if the manager you argued over a £5 pack of drinks was the same person you met when you had a 40" LCD TV under your arm that was a over charge and you should get it for free? but the manager remebers you and makes your life difficult sees you as a serial r+rer and decides to ban you from the store and denies you your big prize find I would be gutted.
I have walked away with just refunds for about £500 worth of stuff in the past at diferent stores just to remain just another customer who was over charged not the guy who buys stuff knowing he can get them free. I did fight a little over the PSP in my local store but only becasue I dont activly go r+ring in there I dont want to get banned as I take my mum and gran shopping there how would I go if I couldnt go in the store and explaint ot my gran, she actually thinks its funny all the chasing arround looking for r+r's.
ohh and the caprisun the place my mum works sells them for 90p each, you think you were over changed LOL.
Have fun but dont get to annoyed that you cant win all the time. Tesco created the policy, and everyone reads in to it diferently and managers will try to get out of giving stuff away just because it is seen as a bad thing putting items down as waste and issuing a refund I expect is recorded and goes against the store in some way which inturn will look bad on the store management reducing any performance related bonuses whatever I dont know the tesco paay terms for management or other staff.
tesco dont activly go and put mispriced SEL's, stickers or posters out there they are mistakes and the number of lines in tesco to do everything and not make mistakes I think is impossible especially when you watch the way prices change every week in some sections, I never really noticed untill I started r+ring.
again I will ask you to not take your feud with tesco too far it will only end up hitting you in the pocket, I am sure you have spent more money in phone calls, or fuel going to the store than you were claiming on r+r. I think we should start the fund to give the user his r+r infact I will give him the bloody fiver, pm me your address and I will stick a cheque in the post or paypal it to you just to shut you up. all the posts over the last few weeks have been !!!!!ing about not getting an xbox, ps2 or PSP, tesco not honouring the policy when it came to the 3 mentioned items. There have been loads of posts compaining and loads of posts saying give it up. the newbie r+rers want it free the expereianced ones are saying give up and move on I wonder why? experiance maybe? tesco know about this site I have seen staff with printed pages checking items, It is apublic forum it doesnt require membership to view the forum, I dont know how many otehr people have kicked up a fuss over £5 worth of drinks so I would expect you to stand out like a sore thumb if tesco HO are aware of you, they know you use this site therefore are not shopping in the spirit of the r+r policy people have been banned from stores for this same reason.
Tesco wont stop the policy but they can and will ban you from stores. keep your head down if you want to be able to continue to r+R in your area. I feel guilty sometimes walking in stores looking for stuff then walking out with nothing I dont know if I am being watched or not I know I have been followed round stores in the past, that is really unnerving and worst when you find an item you want and its an r+r you cant really pick it up and walk over to the scanner, I would just pick stuff up and scan them for the fun of it walking from 1 end of the store to the other watching the staff/security trying to be covert in following me and scan the items on the shelf with a PDA LOL.
Dont forget all those holding on to games consoles hoping to get an r+r you need to return them within 28 days for a refund.0 -

Alternatively, the manager might think something along the lines of.........
"Oh, it's the bloke who stands up for his principles and took us to court and Trading Standards because we overcharged him in the past. He clearly knows his rights and is prepared to have them enforced by the authorities, in the face of all our ducking and diving. We can't hoodwink this guy, so let's just do the honourable thing and give him an R+R on the 40" LCD TV without causing a big fuss like we did last time. The last thing we want is to lose another court case and have this matter in the newspapers again."
Just a thought.0 -

Or this is the bloke with more money that sense taking us to court over a £5 pack of drinks so why should we give him a free TV he has already cost us thousands in legal bills maybe?
Thats if he isnt already banned from every tesco store in the country0 -

Common sense. If you don't pursue an overcharge, surely they'll be more inclined to think they can get away with it next time? I'm living on the planet where I don't let these capitalist giants trample all over me.
Just one quick question for you, bleugh - if Tesco apprehended a shoplifter who stole a pack of Capri Sun worth £4.16, and took civil and criminal action against them, would you describe their actions as "pedantic" and "stupid", etc. ?0 -
