Can someone tell me how many inches of water I could have in a average bath to equal the amount of water used for an average shower?

Submarine shower.
Due to a lack of fresh water on a ship, seamen are taught to get wet, turn off the water, soap and scrub, and turn on the water to rinse.
So.......inch and a half. :=))))0 -
Next time you have a shower leave the plughole in and see the difference in the level of water.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

When cooking only use enough water to cover your vegetables, the same applies when taking a bath.:DThat gum you like is coming back in style.0

I don't have a shower, that's why I want to know how much water I can have without feeling guilty.0 -
Likewise - we've just moved from a house with just a shower, to a house with just a bath - we're sharing bathwater every night, and having one in the mornings too say 3/7 days... is this above average water consumption?
I try and try to make my OH turn the taps off when he brushes his teeth, but he keeps on telling me 'we're not that skint yet hun'. Pfft.0 -
It depends on how long you shower for
what do people reckon is an average length of time to be in the shower for?
for me it's about 11 minutes. In that time i'll use 77 litres of water. A full bath is only 80 litres.0 -
I suppose the only way to find out for sure is to use a litre jug to fill the bath to my usual level, going to take a while.0

well i've just had a shower and tested, just for this thread.
I put the plug in and started the shower to warm up the water. Got undressed, got in the shower, had a shave, washed my hair and had a wash.
The water wasn't even up to my ankles when i got out so if i was you i'd invest in a shower.
I wouldn't share bathwater unless you're going in first. The first person has a wash and gets clean and then the second person sits in their dirty water trying to get clean.0 -
I've done the same thing. I've washed my hair, conditioned it, shaved legs, armpits etc and done a body scrub treatment and only used half the water I would have used in the bath and even then I would always wash my hair separately. So for me it's showers from now on.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

It depends whether you have a power shower as well, or a low-flow shower head!
