Recommend me a phone please.

I am due to upgrade my mobile and just don't know what to pick. Don't want an iphone but there is too much choice with the others.

Can anyone recommend one please:D

  • What do you use your phone for? Texts, talking, games, web? Give us a list in order and someone should be able to recommend a phone. Also, what network are you on?

  • I'm with orange and want to stay with them I have a really good contract and they seem to give me any handset I ask for every year lol.

I use it for talking, texting and internet. Don't use msn or anything just checking email and stuff.

How about a blackberry then? cos its easy to receive email on them instead of having to go to the web browser on your phone to access it
  • Thanks for replying.
I thought about a Blackberry but not sure how I would get on with one. DH has one but it's his work phone so I can't really have a play with it. He says he likes it but prefers his iphone.

Trouble is I've had samsungs for years and a bit scared about changing brands but the one I have now is rubbish:mad:

the samsung wave review isnt that good and says everything is second rate compared to the iphone and the desire except for the wonderful super amoled screen.

another thing that is bad is it is the worlds first 'bada' operating system handset and next to nothing in apps available presently.

the samsung galaxy s specs looks wonderful and in some respects better than the desire namely - increased graphics polygon processing power of nearly 4times and better screen (super amoled) and it is an android phone. but some reports say it does not have pinch to zoom like the desire but some say it does have pinch to zoom. like the desire it is 2.1android system and like the desire it is supposed to get the 2.2 upgrade later this year. some rumours about the desire getting it on june 23rd but just rumours for now i guess until it actually happens. but a big disadvantage with the samsung galaxy s is that vodafone seems to have an exclusive access for now so you wont get it on orange or any other network although three blog seem to have indicated that they are trying to get the samsung galaxy s as well.

buying a phone like the desire or the iphone or the galaxy s with just 500mb internet data limit would be a big mistake as it is pretty easy to cross it. just yesterday i went well above 120mb in a day with just 13h away from wifi on 3g with probably a couple of hours on 3g use and rest on wifi .

motorola has already announced a 2ghz processor handset which should be available at the year end or even better ones by the time it is time for me to upgrade my desire in 2011 november.

we (CPW) are selling it, and from what i have heard we have got network approval for galaxy on vodafone, orange and t-mobile so if that is true, we will sell it

Id suggest going to the orange shop and maybe a few others and seeing how you like the phones etc, no point buying a phone you havent seen in person. Create a list of your top 3 fav phones and see if orange would offer you your first, second or third choices
  • Thanks for all the advice. The iphone is definitely out, I culdn't afford the same package as I am on now.
I was thinking about a desire but was worried it might be a bit too gadgety.

DCFC79 I will risk the orange shop again, last time I went in it was like diving into a tank of piranhas:rotfl:
