actually visited the site as it comes recommended on MSE for perscription glasses.

My story:

Found some cheap D&G glasses bargain and purchased respectfully.
recieved my confirmation email instantly as was well

A week passed and as i was eager for my new glasses, i decided to check my online account to see how progress was going... to my shock there was no evidence of an order.

No worries, i emailed the company with the confirmation email details and order number, simply to establish the details. 3 emails later and another week still nothing.

Selectspecs being an 'online company' have no phone number, its only email responces.

Basically i've given up, luckily i purchased the glasses on credit card who are disbuting the transaction for me. Still hassle i could do without.

Thanks for reading, if this thread saves just one person going out of pocket this thread would be worth while.

Who can i email to get Selectspecs removed from MSE recommended perscription glasses retailer?

hmmm I might just be unlucky.

I google search selectspecs and there are varied feedback for them.

My main problem with Selectspecs is the lack of communication, having sent 4 emails (another sent this morning) i've still had no reply, and theres still no sign of my order on the online page :(

I also bought from them and had no problems. I suspect there was a glitch somewhere and you've been unlucky, hopefully your CC will sort the refund for you.

    Should have gone to specsavers

Im sorry I just couldn't resist that, It is annoying dealing with internet companies who have no telephone because emails have a habbit of not being recieved . I make sure that any purchase made online is with a company that can be contacted by phone for just this reason. Hope it gets sorted soon

Have always find them to be fast and have good prices. Just had an eye test and D&A wanted to charge me close to £90 for reglazing my exisiting frames with straightforward reading glasses with scratch resistant and anti-glare. Have just sent my frame to Specky Four Eyes for reglazing at half their price. :j

    Hi M0jo,

Sorry to hear about your experiences with us, can you give me your order number and I'll check this out for you. It is likely that your order may have not been transferred from our website to our order system correctly but until I know who you are I can't look in to this.

Regarding emails, we do receive all emails and we try to deal with them as soon as we can but at the moment we're in a very busy period which may cause a delay with someone responding to your request.

Feel free to post your order number here or PM it to me. :)

    Kind regards,

    James

Web of Trust users think this is an absolutely appalling company to do business with.

Today I received the 2 pairs of prescription glasses from Selectspecs that I ordered 3 weeks ago. 2 pairs of glasses with cases and cleaning cloths, UV protection, anti reflection and scratch resistant coatings. The cost? Total £13.50 delivered. I'm well pleased!
