I must go home and have a firkle later on!!!

Was busting to lift some last night from plants that looked a bit sorry for themselves but I have learnt from past mistakes!

Oh and yes, the finger nails are usually in a state. When I get into work, if nobody is about I get the scissors and try to get the dirt out from under the nails!

I prefer them when they're really small - that's the joy of growing your own.

Yes, I can't garden in gloves. And sometimes I only have 9 fingernails.

I just dug mine up, planted from one bag of Poundshop potatoes and I'm so chuffed, I keep pulling more and more up, I'll give them a quick weigh later before I have some for my tea with steamed salmon and fresh broad beans (not from garden as only just found out that I love them after 38 years of avoiding them like the plague becasue they look funny!).

My garden centre spuds need a few more weeks but it'll be interesting to compare the yield as they are the same variety (Charlotte)

Can I grow potatoes in a black recycling box? (I have a spare as council changed colours). Is it tall enough and how many potatoes should I put in?
