I applied to t-mobile in february and was declined for a sim only deal and was given a solo £15 PM deal.

Which other mobile phone companies give out similar deals if you are declined for the sim only 30 day or ones who give a phone too?

I was told three from the five companies offer such a deal t-mobile is one but which are the other two??
Bank Account: Abbey No Overdraft & Electron!, Lloyds TSB Premier,
Credit Card: Vanquis Limit £250, Sygma £400, Captial One £200
Catalogues: Freemans Limit £200
Jacamo Limit £1000
Marshall Ward Limit £200
Mobile: 3 network £20 pm x 24mths, Vodafone £35pm

You could try 3 if you are really desperate. Only I would not wish 3 on my worst enemy.

Yeah I feel what you saying I'm already on 24mth £20 pm deal! poor coverage poor signal poor everything! had my phone back twice for software issues which take about a week at a time! then they charge £30 to lend one!, then today a sim was inactive! so had to get a new one.

Someone said vodafone may do it or orange! but need someone to confirn!

O2 are one company, not sure of the others.

I do indeed. :) they would have to credit check you again I'm afraid. Generally O2 have a very harsh credit check to pass, especially for a second line. If your history with them has always been good though, it's worth a try. They should take your existing line into account when producing a decision.

    Hope that helps. :)

If your account is directly with o2 then go to an o2 shop, not CPW, they can add lines by checking your internal score.

CPW seem to be the only retailer who tries to credit check existing customers.

  • If you want to get a 30 day contract with a low credit rating, try Virgin. Their sim only deals are quite good - £10 for 200 mins and unlimited texts is the lowest they do. I know they do carry out a credit check, but their criteria may be different from the "main" companies. Their phones are nothing to write home about, but if you are using an unlocked PAYG phone, who cares!!

Maybe because the standard line rental is only the tip of the iceberg. You can run up a huge bill if you ring overseas constantly during the 30 days. And, if you have a bad credit rating, this diminishes the chances of you being able to pay it off when the bill comes in.
