Hi everyone,
Got home from Nans at midnight, She has lost a lot of weight and is very pail but considering she has just had a hip replacement at 81 she is getting about ok.
She is coping with getting her meals, washing and dressing but isn't able to do any housework which is frustrating her and she is no were near ready to have my grandad home especially as she is his carer, when I spoke to social services they did mention it would be possible for him to stay in a home longer however they might have to move him to a different home but it looks like they might need to do that for now.
My uncle came while I was there and he has arranged for someone to come in and clean for her and he is going to pay for this so thats one less worry for her and my friend will pop in each day to do her bed and put any washing on or any other odd bits that need doing and get her shopping so I am hoping we have covered everything.
It was nice to see her and the kids went and spent the afternoon with ex MIL who actually took them out!! and then we popped into see my god children so got quite a bit done although am tired today need to get quite a bit done here so of to grab my list.
Big hugs to all that need them, sexymouse goodluck for your wedding although you sound very organised well done.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -
Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
DONE!
Thursday ~ Bathroom, Study and Stairs!
DONE!
Friday ~ just neglected spaces!
DONE!
Phew all lists completed for the week which is a bit strange for this time at the weekend
All I need to do is 1 or 2 more lots of washing, empty all the bins and pack to go away then set off tomorrow
I think I might celebrate by making some flapjacks to take camping, catching up on the gardening then sorting out packing for the holiday clothes and all the rest of the stuff to go.
Have counted out the £1 and £2 and 50p jars and got £60 to add to spending money and camping costs which is nice as am bit skint at the moment
how nice to have done some flying yesterday and this morning and all completed by lunchtime - can free my mind of the cleaning lists now for a week

It's lovely to read how concerned you are for your Nan and how well you look after her. Nice to see that other people are chipping in, too. Please take care of yourself, though, and take some time out.
WM and DW on, lunch made and currently being eaten (ham sandwich with cucumber, red pepper and beetroot, followed by yogurt).
The big laundry sort is next, and I might start a spending spreadsheet for next month during my next break, while I have a cuppa.
ETA Can anyone recommend a spreadsheet that will allow me to set a budget for each month, as well as record actual spending? I've found a good one that I downloaded a while ago, but it has only got one column per month available, and I would need two. What do you all use?
ETA
LW - hope you are having a lovely time on holiday.
fedup - you've done really well, finishing all the lists. I hope you have nice weather for your camping trip. Are you touring, or staying in one place?0 -
Hello
Quick sign in from me, not much being done here all very low, the job OH thought was his for the taking hasn't materialised. Had an interview last week that went well and was told he was just what they were looking for, then had to have another test on Monday that seemed to go well and was told he will be notified by Friday (yesterday) well waited all day and no call. Do prospective employers even care how demoralising this farce is? It's only a delivery drivers job at minimum wage for heavens sake, make a discision and let us know.
On flying front have just agreed to hold a meeting here in 10 days for several very capable and houseproud types and am feeling terrified. However have done this a sort of punishment to self as I need a massive kick up the xxx. Wish me luck.WL 11 st 5lb as at 050109. 160209 11st 2lb

Laundry is sorted into different loads, WM 2 on, WM1 is pegged out and yesterdays towels are finishing in the TD because they are rock-hard.
Time for a cuppa. I cheated and already had a look at spreadsheets when I finished my lunch. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction, so I don't end up creating my own.0 -

It's probably a bit of guilt from living so far away and feeling useless, and the fact I used to be a home carer for the elderly so feel that I should be able to help my own grandparents when I have helped so many others in the past. It's lovely to read how concerned you are for your Nan and how well you look after her. Nice to see that other people are chipping in, too. Please take care of yourself, though, and take some time out.

Employers seem to have no thought for the fact that you would just like an answer one way or another so at leat you know, sending you lots of positive job vibes for your oh.
