My 'friend' reckons I am more than capable of doing a better job than Signor Capello - and he doesn't even know I'm a Flylady! Probably could too - after all, we've got the Government in our sights - why not the World Cup LOLcyclingyorkie wrote: »As regards England - can't we have a flylady in charge - cos something's not working at the moment........

Weather report
The Valliland coast is well and truly clear!
(ref to old 'wrong number' joke - phone rings, hubby answers, wife asked who it was, hubby replied that it was a wrong number; somebody wanted the weather forecast - he was asking if the coast is clear!)

Hello Flyers,
Manically busy day.
School fete (why did I ever sign up for the PTA)
DF over for take-away tonight.
Train to brighton tomorrow morning at 10am to watch Britain's got Talent with another DF (booked before I realised it was fathers day)
Somehow I need to get all the school stuff ready for Monday morning as I'm staying away Monday night.0 -
Morning lovely ladies
I must be back on my tablets as I was the first one up this morning, DH decided to have a layin as he is now on holiday for a week
So I pottered around downstairs, washed up, hung the washing out, fed the two dove parents and listened to them chattering to each other. We think they have the squabs (baby doves) in their nest now as there was a lot of activity and they were both off the nest feeding, instead of doing it in relays
I am hoping that we get to see their little heads popping up when mum and dad are feeding them, although I am not looking forward to the noise coming from the tree when I am in the garden..lol Mr and Mrs Blackbird were foraging around outside earlier, think they were looking for worms or something such like.:D The sparrows were doing their usual munching on the feeder..what's new there
We have a new regular now - a Wren has been perching on our fence for the past few days. I think she is looking to stay now and is quite fascinated by the food on the feeder/tray.Penelope_Penguin wrote: »I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but I'd like to thank each and every Flylady who's posted messages of support, and those who have thought of the Flyladies who are having a difficult time just now. You are all wonderful :A
This thread not only keeps my house clean and tidy, but the warmth from virtual friends is second to none, and has really helped me to get through today. I am no longer feeling murderous
Can I also echo this, if it wasn't for this thread now I am sure I would have gone under physically and mentally. I really feel that you are all family to me and if I could give each and everyone of hugs I would so love to. I have very few friends IRL and often feel isolated at home, but I know that I can come on here and there is always someone to speak to, and it feels like they actually want to speak to me - if you know what I mean.
We all look after each other and worry if someone hasn't been around etc.. For example some people have their own worries yet they worry about me if I haven't posted for a while - I get a text seeing if I'm alright. This to me means so much more than anyone could imagine.
I am grateful the thread has got more chattier during the week, even if we do have to add the odd bit of flying to our posts - I really like this as I feel that I am telling someone "real" about what I am feeling etc, and also I feel that I am part of everyone's lives.
Ok enough of my mushy stuff...lol
LW you asked what nail stuff I used on my nails - it's called Sally Henson: Natural Shine Instant Nail Finish, and it's the pink tint one. I actually picked this up in the 99p store near me but I noticed it is still available as I was wondering if it had been discontinued but it hadn't.I also use Sally Henson Nail Strengthener. I can honestly say that it has made a difference to my nails.
Sexy hope you are feeling calmer today, sending you massive hugs to help you get through it. Weddings are always strenuous and can cause so many arguments in the families, I think that is all part of the whole process. In some respect I was glad that we only had DH's parents to argue with when we got married..lol
I am sure I have forgotten a lot, sorry.. Please have hugs everyone else
Oooh while I remember "toxic" hasn't contacted me at all either by email, text or landline. I really expected to get something from her but she has kept quiet. I know she has picked up the emails, although it wasn't until the early evening that she did pick them up. Oh well I'll either get the money or she will just disappear totally and not pay me. Somehow I am wondering if I should have just left it as I don't seem to be any further forward, well apart from her not being around and definately I don't have the money that she owes. We will see what the future brings, when she has had time to digest it all and stop feeling hurt/martyred/angry and put up on..
Off to have a shower while DH is walking the dogs..hmm got to sort some washing out as it is sunny outside and there is washing to be done..ugh!! Does the washing actually disappear, I am sure it is breeding..lol
Hugs to Toots, Diva and LL (thank you so much for the text sweetie

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone.
Kazw thank you very much for your kind offer. I seem to have most things under control with the plans, in that I know what has to be done. I've done a lot of things already (Moon has paid for reception for 40 guests unless numbers change, I've paid for my dress, shoes, jewellery, underwear, bought some notecards to make invitations from - very MSE as only £5.98 for 40 of them, and they are spring blossoms in our colours - pink and white, got the bridesmaid dress). Will be collecting the bridesmaid dress on Monday, and fingers crossed the alteration will be ok. Just need to find an ivory corsage (I have one in mind - a new look one for £4), and possibly an ivory ribbon to create a sash for "Gokking" the bridesmaid dress with.
Still to do:
- Find a light linen suit for OH (preferably a blend so it won't crease so much)
- Find jewellery and shoes for the bridesmaid
- Get a tutorial on how to apply my own makeup (bought a lovely limited ed eyeshadow palette from Clinique recently)
- Work out what to do with my hair and bridesmaid's hair
- Write the invite inserts, and work out who is no longer going to be invited (BIL etc)
- Get my wedding band made (have been told by the jewellers to wait til Feb for this)
- Lose some weight (have been comfort eating recently, and all of my clothes are getting tight - don't know how much I weigh as no scales, but getting a bad muffin top)
Nearer the time:
- Confirm numbers with Reception venue
- Buy a tiered cupcake stand to fit 40 cupcakes and a small cutting cake on top (Kazw I could do with a hand in tracking one of these down cheaply - I don't have paypal though)
- Work out cupcake recipes and trial them (My Mum offered to make these, but have Asda as a backup, cos if repairing a zip is too much to ask, 40 cupcakes is huge!)
- Get copies of paperwork done
- Try on holiday clothes and see if I need new ones and whether some can be ebayed etc if necessary.
I know realistically that most of these things won't be too much of a problem, it's just the fact that I'm doing everything, and the family problems have really upset me, particularly as none of them have even asked how things are going, or even considered I may need any help with anything.
Sorry for the mammoth post! I'm off to declutter some breakfast and resist the urge to go to starbucks and spend more money on fattening food and drink. Then it will be Mount washmore as the weather is nice, and I will walk into town (about a 35 minute walk along a lovely canal).
Froddy enjoy BonJovi - I'd love to see them! 8 more babies?!
GnB congratulations on your results.
Hugs to anyone who needs them.

Have a lovely day Valli
DH has taken SS2 to his windsurfing lesson (paid up front for the summer) so we are making fathers day presents. Not quite sure what DH is going to think of a beaded necklace (DS2) and a beaded windchime (DS1) but they have enjoyed making them - and the set was all of 50p ages ago.
Need to spend the rest of this morning cleaning though and try and rescue this place. So far I have glued the rope on the wood burner done and put the cleaner on the glass. Trying to convince myself it isn't cold enough to put the stove on. Whilst looking for the glue I found some wine making stuff that I bought when the quidco challenge meant buying vast quantities from wilkos - so I think I will have a first go at river cottage elderflower champagne, and some cordial whilst I am at it.
The strawberries in the greenhouse are ripe (but DS1 eats them when he opens the door each day), and the ones outside are just starting to colour.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Ok, i'm officialy not talking to you now:( I had tickets for last sunday and had to sell them - they were 7 rows from the front:(
Sorry, i'll behave myself now, hope you have a great time. Did you get the £5 tickets that were on offer or did you have them already??
Hugs sexymouse families can be really crap sometimes!
Not long up, been faffing about trying to sort out my friend who bought tickets on gumtree and has probably been scammed and lost her money:mad:The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

My dad has the other furries to watch for a few days (cos 8 more babies have arrived!!!)

Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. Have a wonderful time! But 8 babies - oh dear. Single cages until you've established pink vs blue?

Well done on being so organised with your wedding. Could you give it a few weeks and see if your mum is in a better place to talk about the cupcakes? I'm sure she'd regret not being involved in your preparations. You could agree on a day and have a trial baking session together.
Valli - have a lovely weekend!
Natty - I'm sure you've made the right decision, asking toxic for the money back. At least you won't continue to wonder what would happen if you did and you will know where you stand with her.
You asked me ages ago how I got on with my 'organised mum' stuff. I like the calendar and diary and will probably buy them again for next year. I may need to buy the bigger sizes, though. Also, I need to use them all the time
and get the family to look at the calendar, too. At the moment they still rely on me all the time.
It's grey, cold and windy here today. I've put off anything much for way too long now, so will really need to get my bum in gear. See you all later. x0 -
service all finialised and printed
Shower now then out for an early lunch with DH. Might go into town this aft as I feel like getting out.
sexy - you sound v organised. My local cookery shop has some lovely cake stands I'll have a look for you. xMum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Well done on being so organised with your wedding.
Thank you - I think it's because I'm on supply now, and was so used to having tonnes of planning to do for school, that now I don't have any of that, I've gone a bit overboard on the planning of the wedding. :rotfl:Still, fingers crossed this means I will be able to have the wedding I want, and won't have a mad dash to do things nearer the time. :T
Am sat here slowly decluttering a bowl of muesli. My payslip for last week has just arrived, so one of my goals today is to find all of my timesheets that are no longer needed, and put them in the woodburner pile, and then file all of the timesheets. Hopefully this will declutter the living room a bit.
I also want to transfer all of my handbag into my new handbag that has been sitting around in the living room for a few weeks now.
ETA just read rach's message - that would be lovely if you find any nice ones.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
sexy - sounds like you have too much time on your hands

- but better that than the reverse...what I will say is it's your wedding - have what YOU want! Becaus e(with any luck) you'll only have one...
Many months ago I told DS(for a joke, obviously) that IF I get married again I'm having a number 3 for my cake because I'm beginning to lose track :rotfl:
my neighbours daughter had cupcakes and her gran made them - each one was individual - (ie all different) looked fantastic - they covered 5 tiers AND overspilled on to the table
Thanks for all good wishes..
