Oh well - that's the last we will see of the sun up here then.toottifrootti wrote: »after lunch I ventured into the shed and hauled out the parasol - cleaned it all - it was a bit mouldy from when the roof was leaking - and now it is up - oh and had to repair the handle twice as well!0 -
Depends on the fabric Mudders. I washed my dining room ones once (once notice, and no, I won't be doing it again) and they leached a sort of strarch and became less opaque.
The ones by my front door are stiffened and I am certain they would not wash. I can, apparently, order and buy replacement slats...
As for the fluffy cat-fur covered ones in the living room *goes to fetch HUGE tin of GLOSS paint*
I keep the ones on the front closed in this weather anyway...too sunny and it blasts straight in here from sunrise. I benefit HUGELY from solar heat gain;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Well, this has been a busy week, been out of the house for at least 12 hours everyday apart from today, when I got in early thanks to a corporate responsibility day spent clearing parkland and digging ditches, and there was no way I was going into the office all hot and sweaty after that! So I've not done much flying this week, but as I said at the start I knew it would happen and I have tried to get level ones in where poss. Here's how I've got on (with other levels removed so I don't demoralise myself, unless they caan be crossed off of course:p)
Monday ~ Living Room, Hall and Stairs
Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas
[STRIKE]Clean the fire and surround.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Wipe sofas and any grubby marks
Wipe and water any plants[/STRIKE]
Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/STRIKE]
Empty the cutlery drawer.. clean it out, wash the cutlery tray, chuck those baby spoons you don't use any more.. how many medicine spoons do you actually need? get rid of everything you don't use and make the drawer look nice again! - I wasgoing to do this but got distracted by a major greenfly infestation on the plants on the windowsill -that did get me to do one of the extras on the list though...
Extras[STRIKE]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
[/STRIKE]
Wednesday - Master bedroom & landing
Level One
Strip and wash sheets
Vacuum and turn mattress before replacing clean sheets a weekend job so I get a lie in in the lovely fresh sheets:D
[STRIKE]15 minutes floordrobe clearance[/STRIKE]
Thursday ~ Bathroom, Study and Stairs!
Level One
Declutter floors - bathroom and stairs clear, study is rather a work in progress - it's one of the rooms for homeless items
Vacuum/mop all these floors
[STRIKE]Do a mini-job you have been putting off forever.. an email or letter or whatever!
[/STRIKE]
Friday ~ Childrens Rooms, Spare rooms Or just neglected spaces!
Level One
Declutter and vacuum the floor!
Strip and wash and replace stinky bedding
Make half an hour for YOURSELF!!! - I know it's not Friday but I'm taking this one now, rather shattered from today, and so sat with a cup of tea and going to catch up with Fred as I haven't checked in since Monday, before OH gets in and I make a start on dinner.

Pigpen, just being nosey and you don't have to answer if you don't want, but what is the average price for a full set??? I used to get mine done in Cardiff but when i stopped working there it was too much of a pain to "pop in" to get a repair done. Now there are a few local salons that do them and want to start having them done again(not as long as yours though!!! I would use them as an excuse not to do any housework(It takes me ages to get used to them!!))0
