Plan to spend some time in the garden after the school run as it is lovely out there and I have loads of garden jobs on my to do list.

  • Afternoon all- trying to catch up!

mummyslittleboy- have you tried your loacl Red Cross or Age Concern for your Nan?? Both do Home from Hospital type support services and depending on where you are may take self referrals. (we do here). This would give her some extra back up til SW's get their act together. You would be surprised at the number of oldies who are adament that they don't need anything until they get home and realise that they do.

Off to declutter to- do list to printer so i can see the extent of the problem! :rotfl:

I said earlier it is already done.. why would I want to clean something that is already sparkly.. is yours?

And when have I said I wasn't done?.. recently?

And you need to be more polite and when you ask a question look for the reply.. it is the post right after yours... posted 2 minutes after you did..

Many apologies, recently when I ask MSE to go to next unread post it puts me somewhere else, I missed it :o I guess I have to do it now

Work was rather pointless today but I have caught up on an awful lot of paperwork and am almost up to date on it, tomorrow should do it although there will probably be more then

    Afternoon all,

Massive hugs LadyL, that must have been an incredibly hard decision for you to make. I've no doubt you'll make those two occassions and hopefully many more. Enjoy Glastonbury.xxx

MissH, i'm sorry but i had to laugh at your plant mishap, it's the sort of thing that would happen to me.:rotfl::rotfl:

    Well done ajmoney.:T:T:T

We've been out for lunch, Ds2 didn't eat much and then he had a bad tummy. We haven't gone to the school fete as he's needed the toilet twice in the space of half an hour. He's got a headache too so i've given him some calpol and he's watching a Dvd. I'm just having a coffee and then i'd better try and reduce my list a bit.

    Hi all.
Please would someone tell me, who the heck is Brian Cox? *insert shruggy smilie*:D

James Burke but better looking.... sorry, James!
    Awaits "who's James Burke"? posts....:D

Once upon a time, there used to be a BBC science programme called Tomorrow's World which dealt with new fangled stuff such as the moon landings, new sorts of food, compact discs... James Burke was one of the presenters and was hugely enthusiastic, well read, not too posh, good delivery of complex subjects and, if I remember correctly, got to do the commentary on Apollo 13's problematic journey.

Professor Brian Cox OBE: genuine physicist, ex pop star, capable of explaining the large Hadron Collider in terms everyone can understand...:D

Toots many thanks for the Brian Cox link; I rarely watch TV at all, and don't "do" much modern music, so I don't wonder I didn't know who he is.:o

aj I had no doubt that you'd pass. Congratulations.:T

Been polishing doors, so I'm having a time-out and decluttering an apple.;)

Lady-Liberty - huge, huge hugs, and all my spare spoons, with love. Have a fantastically wonderful time at a sunny (but not too hot) Glastonbury.

    aj - Well Done!!!!

I've sort of done a bit in the main bedroom, did the kitchen and living room yesterday.:D:D:D

Today my DS2 is 16!!! There are currently 7 friends in the garden having a very noisy barbecue. I'm supervising from a distance.... I've warned the neighbours. They won't be going on late though, as we're all going out for Chinese tonight.

 I am sooo annoyed

Most of my course have tried to register for our graduation over the last week and couldn't. We all rang up to ask why and various reasons were given, I tried again today on the off chance so I could ring if there were any problems, I successfully did so but now all the additional tickets have gone. We only get 2 and I was hoping to get an extra so my parents and OH could come. I know some of the guys aren't going so there will definately be some extras so need to ring to find out if I can go on a waiting list, I have also asked if any of the other guys only need one of their tickets. OH has been great and said not to worry about him, my parents can go and he will be outside to have photos after. Thing is he graduated from his degree 5 years ago and we couldn't both go because of work so didn't bother, the same thing happened with my 2nd degree 3 years ago. He graduated from his PGCE last year and I was working so couldn't be with him and just for once I would like us both to be there.:mad:

Sorry for the rant, I know it isn't flying but I feel as though I have decluttered a lot of anger!
