He's kept the tax, insurance and MOT up to date and says he hasn't abandoned it...

Please advise if there is anything we can do to get this vehicle moved.
    How about the obvious?

Speak to your neighbour. It isn't that hard! shaking.gif

Are you sure that the fact that his, apparently, fully road legal car is parked near your house is really putting the buyers off?

Perhaps they don't like your car.

Ask him nicely even bribe him crate of beer for a few weeks of not parking, although doesn't stop someone else parking there in its place. Other than that nothing you can do its is legally parked

He's kept the tax, insurance and MOT up to date and says he hasn't abandoned it, so what makes you think it's abandoned? More importantly, what makes the Council think it's abandoned?

If its not moved for 5 years then its not been for an MOT and would probably fail if it did.

To the OP, what's so bad about this car that it causes potential buyers to pull out?

If it's got a tax disk, then it must have had a valid MOT when that was issued. Pushing the matgins to the limit, that would have been within the last 2 years. There's a subtle, but important, difference between non use and abandonment.

it is stored in residential parking

What does this mean? The side of the road is not classed as "residential parking".

How about...get a trolley jack, lift up the rear & push it out of the way!! Under cover of darkness would be even better :)

What car is it? Why does it's presence put people off - lots of houses have cars outside not belonging to the owners of the house?

Where does the OP say it's insured and has an MOT? She just said it's tax exempt (I assume because it's old).
