  • I have spent a fortune on top quality stanley screwdrivers over the years and most of their reinforced tips have broken on me through normal light use, so its no guarantee of quality.
Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

    Primum non noce!
  • I have found that the cheap ones sold by Screwfix and another one available as free gift from Staples are no good even for occasional DIY use. However I was pleasantly surprised with a Lidl screwdriver set I bought for possibly 2-3 quids 3 years ago, used extensively (even hammered like a chisel), and still as good as new! I also bought a cordless 4 piece srewdriver/drill+grinder+saw+light for £25 from Aldi, works very well indeed for my purpose! Overall I am much happier with cheap German stuff than these UK store stocks (probably made in China).
  • They are in fact £4.99 + VAT = £5.86 in Makro from Wednesday (if you want screwdrivers that won't last that is!!)

I bought these a few months ago from Makro at this price too. Really good value and I've no problem with them. Handy to have round the house anyway.
    If I had known then what I know now . . .
