Wifey does the packing. Only a moron would've taken the statement literally...

I'm autistic & take everything literally unfortunately.

    So autistic people are morons?

    You are charming aren't you.

BCS, you dont need to live by your diagnoses, I'm pretty sure everyone has been made aware that you have autism and have had Breast Cancer at this stage.

Obviously hammyman didn't or he wouldn't have said that only a moron would take something literally.

I am currently ill and I have been on incapacity benefit - and I still need it. I just want to be left alone to get better and get a job that I 'really' want to do.

So because your ill you should just be ignored until you feel better.......and find the job you want to do?

What about those jobseekers who after 13 weeks have to "widen" their job goals?

Statistically your more likely to retire, or die than enter employment from IB.

David Cameron is trying to force people off sickness benefit and force them to do any old job - just so that he can get people off sickness benefit. What rubbish is that..?

I think the point is to find what an individual can do, rather than what they can't do.

    What’s so wrong with that?

I want to be an astronaut but I can't quite see that happening.

So, if you are a highly skilled professional, then it means you've got to work in a factory or clean toilets..? I am highly educated and skilled, but my time off work will make it hard to get the work I used to do - because people are just prejudiced and bigoted in the market that I am trained in.

Well if you can't find employment despite your qualifications and skills then maybe you should set the bar lower?

Your issues with lower skilled or menial jobs are apparent, could it be this isn't helping you? The biggest difference they have from you is the fact they work.

What is David Cameron gonna do about that..? Does he think that people will suddenly walk into the jobs they want..? No, that's why he wants to just get people of sickness benefits and force them to do any job, just any excuse to get you off the benefits that you REALLY need.

Its not about jobs people "want", its about contributing to society by doing a job you can do.

I am not a benefit sponger or scrounger......I have 2 university degrees and certifications and some experience....before I got ill with chronic depression.

Great so after costing the state a fortune in educating you, your now not putting anything back into the system.

I don't need the crappy help of government to get a job, because I know what job and career I want to follow.

So what are you waiting for?

The government schemes at job centres are always pathetic for graduates like me. They waste your time and are only suitable for illiterate and under-achievers, degenerates, etc.

I take it you've never tried the Pathways programmes?

I don't need help to write a CV. What I need is real help to get the job that I want and know. I want a government official to sit with me in an job interview to check that I am not asked any prejudiced questions and unfair questions regarding my illness and time off work.
I want the government to get me back to work with a personalised approach and real help.

The employer is paying you for a service you provide, preferably one that generates a higher income than your own wages.

I somehow doubt that having someone sit with you through an interview isn't going to endear you to the employer.

People like me should be getting paid compensation for the years I spent at university to better my life and provide to society.

Um, but your education wasn't funded solely by you, it was also funded by the tax payer, also your not providing to society currently are you?

Based on what you've said about your depression, perhaps you might want to think of something less stressful or discriminating?

    Maybe cleaning?

I think the UK is slowly becoming communist with this new conservative-liberal government. Forcing people into 'any' work is what the communists did and that is happening now in the UK. What next...?

By stopping money being paid to people who can work but choose not to, the government is not forcing people into employment. It is forcing people to take responsibility for their own lives and not expect the state to.

I guess what this summarises as:

The world doesn't owe you a living.

The fact is that anybody on IB would be well beyond the stage of being signed off by their GP. Most IB claimants will not have had their capability for work assessed for at least a year, and in many cases a great deal longer. A lot can change in a year.

Correct......Things can change in a year either wey.

    I buy and sell laptops.

There's other things that are possible too. What instantly comes to mind:
    • Book-keeping
    • Administration
    • Accountancy
    • Customer Service
    • Bank Clerk
    • Call Centre
    • Receptionist
    • Back Office Staff

Benefits are not just judged on what you can or can't do.They also take into account things that would make a claimants conditon worse.
