 Some fat fingered muppet must have hit the ad break button as all of a sudden the annoying cars playing football ad came up, it then goes black, I then flick over to normal ITV and I'm watching the replay of the goal!
And all we get is a weak "apologies for the interuption" from Adrian Charles.
Muppets:mad:
And then we don't even win

I think the fat fingered Muppet was in goal !!!!!!!!!
At least it gave us a break from them bloomin horns !!!!!!!!!!
Come on England
David ................ James !!!
My wife has just seen an advert in the paper saying that Premier Inn are offering a free night to anyone sharing the same name as an England goal scorer. If I get a game and score I may treat her to a holiday !!!0 -
I was watching on HD at the start, then the boyfriend told me to turn off HD since we don't have an HDTV and would be using up cable bandwidth unneccesarily.
He's goodSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Another reason not to watch ITV shame they are allowed to play games when they interrupt them through a vital game0

Really annoyed had all the family round proudly showing of new TV and watching in HD. ITV are useless and should not be allowed the rights give it to the BBC
You can see the !!!! up here:

I absolutely agree. The apology ("HD viewers lost some coverage") was not really adequate. For some of us this was the biggest TV event in four years and to mess it up so badly deserves more than a minor mention at half time.
Considering there has been a drive by the broadcasters for people to watch the World Cup in HD the only response to this debacle is to grant the BBC the rights to every England match as this could not possibly happen with them.

Are you suggesting the BBC never screw things up? All you need to do is watch BBC Breakfast for about 30 mins and you'll see at least 1 camera/transition error.
At the end of the day, it was an accident. And I'm sure it will be shown again (and again and again and again and again) over the next few days0 -
I'm suggesting that I have never missed a goal during the BBC's coverage of any football match ever due to someone pressing the commercial button. This has, however, happened twice on ITV. Exactly the same thing happened last year when ITV were covering a live FA Cup match, and during extra time after 90 goalless minutes Liverpool scored the winning goal while ITV viewers were watching an advert. If a broadcaster can't actually manage to broadcast an event of national significance (like it or not the World Cup is) then that privilege should be given to one that can.0

Sorry, couldn't remember exactly (being a Pompey fan)! Just remember watching 119 and a half minutes of football and 30 seconds of advert at the crucial moment.
Of course it's a little more difficult to remember a goal that you haven't seen because of broadcasting incompetence, but I do remember now as the outcome was my preferred choice.0 -
I think this is SO ironic after all the hype about 'upgrade your TV system to HD to watch the world cup in glorious HD' then the HD channel goes to an advert at the worse possible time!...so do I take it that anyone watching on ordinary ITV actually saw the goal? The ads are at different times on the HD channel?
My OH was gutted, he's just bought a humax so he can watch the world cup in HD...the kids are puzzled and asked him what yet another box under the TV was for, after he had tried to give them an explanation about how he would see much more detail, every blade of grass on the pitch, they rolled their eyes and said "so its really just a grass viewing machine then?" (they are mini MSErs bless um!) :rotfl:0
