Which 50" Plasma (pretty urgent)?

If you ask, 'which of these 2?', then 'neither' is a perfectly valid reply. Even if it's not the reply that you would like.
Whilst not wanting to be rude, "neither" is not a valid reply. Simply not replying at all is a valid option, as you can't (or won't) answer the question.
For various reasons, I'd narrowed my choice down to these two, but wanted confirmation that my opinion of the LG being the better of the two was correct.
I didn't mention a "Panny" in my question. Appreciate that you were trying to help, but I needed a quick, simple answer, not to be pointed to other models and other stores for various reasons.
Hope you understand and hope this won't put you off helping others in the future, a forum is built upon the members helping each other.0 -

Yes, this would've been better still
Would've then answered my question, which is what I wanted, and also would've given me some suggests for if I wanted to reconsider my choice. :T0 -
I have to agree with the others sorry: if the answer to the question is A or B, I still don't see why it is wrong to say C if it could be a relevant answer. Therefore saying Panasonic I would say is a decent answer.
Similarly if I asked should I install norton or mcaffee, I assume everyone will say no to both and tell me to install avira etc. Can't personally see the difference with this topic.0 -

- you are not answering the O/P's question
There's nothing wrong with your opinion, or stating your view that's the very purpose of MSE, but perhaps answering the question asked first and then asserting a~n~other opinion second.

RIK you are a respected member, we know why you prefer Pana, and we know your not thick.
ukmonkey has just laid out £700 and the herd mentality of the group is making him feel bad about his purchase.
If someone asked which av ~ mcafee or AVG then you KNOW what id suggest
This is no different:idea:0 -

You did, in your #2 post you both answered the question, and then volunteered a~n~other opinion you said :
I personally don't like both companied to be honest.
If I had to choose I'd go for LG - it is more expensive originally.
Personally I'd look at Panasonic.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Oh my God..........
Both were choices based on a last minute urge to buy a telly.
The OP didn't even read most of the replies before they bought one anyway.
& certainly didn't read Richie-From-The-Boros'
So in fact whatever Richie said is pretty much irrelevant. Not Again0 -

This is no different
It is different, choosing a different AV doesn't :
- cost £700
- have a 60 minute deadline
I've no idea why the O/P narrowed down to those two choices, or why the urgency, it's not my business.
My comments to you were meant for all responders and were / are not a personal attack on them or yourself RIK. ukmonkey was for whatever reason stuck for a quick opinion on his question and no one gave him one.
Example#1: the answer to your question is get the LG, but if I was you I'd get a Panasonic / Samsung / Heinz etc
Example#2: the answer to your question is get the LG, but if I was you I'd avoid rushing the decision and get more advice from the group
Example#3: the answer to your question is get the LG, but if I was you I'd get it from such and such it's £100 cheaper
Now then, I'd better get out of here before I inadvertently start a flame war, I don't want to see trolls slithering in for a meal.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Ive no problem at all Richie. But I stand by my advice
Further to that, if somone put say AVG on and it became riddled with viruses, then they might just go and buy a new computer at 700 quid:idea:0 -
