Not a question, just an observation ' wallbash ' but yes you're right my friend.
My other favourite is when some poor soul [ I'm para-synthesising ] says, help - I'm a numpty - and can't even make pNp windows work, and the Linux phanbhoys [ sailors in two ports ] decend in droves saying, get Unbuntu / Fedora / Mandriva / openSuSE etc.
# sailors in two ports = most also run Windows to do proper puter stuff !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Only less than two short hours to make an expensive decision
Mind you, I spent so long thinking about getting a new TV that it had gone up in price before I could decide.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Wonder if he got to the shops?
Assume he wanted it in time for the England game. Is it just me that finds it bizzare that people are prepared to spend £600 on the basis of 10 minutes internet research and then a dash to the nearest shop still open?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Nah, we only turned the new tv on this morning, but yes, there were reason for my needing to buy it yesterday evening, but I'd rather not go into those reasons
Thanks to the few that have been of help.
Some didn't understan the question and were coming up with other TVs to go for etc etc, but again, thanks for your input.

If you ask, 'which of these 2?', then 'neither' is a perfectly valid reply. Even if it's not the reply that you would like.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Were not thick
We all understood the question fine thanks, and we came up with other ideas is for good reason
No it is not.
- you are answering a question that was never asked
- you are answering a question you wished was asked
- you are answering your own question
- you are not answering the O/P's question
There's nothing wrong with your opinion, or stating your view that's the very purpose of MSE, but perhaps answering the question asked first and then asserting a~n~other opinion second.
Example: the answer to your question is get the LG, but if I was you I'd get a Panasonic / Samsung / Heinz etc
RIK you are a respected member, we know why you prefer Pana, and we know your not thick.
ukmonkey has just laid out £700 and the herd mentality of the group is making him feel bad about his purchase.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
