Hi Twinmum07 and Twindad07,
Just found your diary, I really root for you guys, I can just imagine how hard it can be to deal with the debts plus the kiddos. Twinmum, you're right, if you wait until you can afford to have children, you'd be doing IVF at the age of 70-that's my point with OH, who thinks we should wait till the end of next year cause by the time we will be financially ready for it. We shall see, I don't want to end up having kids at the age of 45.
Anyway, good luck with everything, I shall subscribe and follow your journey.
Thank you.
I had a Rachel from friends moment and sat down and thought about kids. I really wanted an only child and DH wanted 2 so i had to factor having one and then giving in to a second. I didn't want to have kids over 35 so number 2 would have to be conceived by 34. A friend told me most people take 18 months plus to conceive so I factored in 2 years for that so would have to start trying for the 2nd child at 32. I would want an age gap of 3 1/2 years but some of this could be pregnant/trying so a couple of years took me to 30 for the 1st baby then add the 3 years for pregnancy and trying took me to 27 - the age i was at the time so i figured we just couldn't wait as the numbers were against us!
I began my epic 8 year plan for 1/2 kids and was pregnant with twins 1 month later - oops! You just can't plan kids really can you?
At the time we were both on very high incomes - the debt was about what it is now but that wasn't a huge deal with our household income then so we didn't worry too much about the financial side.Est. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)Working together with DH on our debts (twindad07)Long haulers supporters DFW #2560 -

Would anyone buy them? I guess they could be handy to keep in a cupboard and get them out when there is housework to be doneEst. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)Working together with DH on our debts (twindad07)Long haulers supporters DFW #2560 -
