Is it worth looking into the cost of a nanny? A childminder would cost you in the region of £10.50 - £11.00 per hour depending on where you live; I guess a nanny would be cheaper? You may need to take into consideration that if the children are at a day nursery and then at a school nursery of 3 hours of the day, I'm afraid that the day nursery will not reduce fees as they are still holding places for your twins.
When are the twins 3? As of September, the nursery education grant is going up to 15 hours per week (5 x 3 hour sessions).

Nanny wouldn't be cheaper as don't forget that you need to employ her. The tax and NI can be high if she has another 4 day job-but you might be able to use childcare vouchers. I think childminder is cheaper as they are responsible for paying their tax and NI.
  • Hope the cccs phonecall is going ok x

The phonecall was a bit blah!
As our current situation is OK because we are on a mortgage break then they can't really do anything or find out what the options are. If we start paying our mortgage now despite the break they can look at options but if not we have to wait until the poo hits the fan.
I suppose it makes sense but it seems silly to have to wait until our finances get even worse to be able to do anything to intervene.

If something comes of Thursdays appointments at the schools then we will probably be looking at a small shortfall that we could make up with the business, refereeing, tutoring, ebaying .... so we could easily go it alone
Grrr - i just hoped we would have clearer options by now but things still seem very vague

Is there a link to template letters somewhere? I don't think we need someone to take over paying the debts as we are pretty good when on track (not sure how to say that without sounding seriously silly as we are £34,000 in debt) but it is the hope of interest reduction to allow us a decent chance at blasting it that would make the difference. As it is we are £900 short of making minimum payments but the hope of me getting some work would bring it more in line but nothing would happen there until September and with a month in hand it would be October before anything would start to show financially.
