FAO Vodafone reps - since this was deleted from the eForum, I'll ask here

I am querying the accuracy of your statement in the updated "mobile internet announcement" that:
The premium tier of our new price plans includes 1GB of data instead of 500MB. If your current price plan has “YP” at the beginning of its code (see the first page of your bill) then you’re on the older version of the premium plans and are eligible to move to the new ones. You’ll pay the same as you currently are per month for the same allocation of minutes and texts, but with twice the data allowance. The handsets this applies to are: HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Desire, Google Nexus One (which was previously 1GB), HTC HD2, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Samsung Galaxy S or Nokia N900."

I am (well was) on the "right" price plan (YP at £40/month) and have the "right" handset (HD2) and yet was told categorically that in order to move me to 1GB data I'd have to lose all of my unlimited (3000) minutes to landlines. I have now arranged something more suitable through the Director's Office, but I'd like to see an explanation.

Edit: it's not just me, I have seen on "our" Facebook group page that someone else tried to migrate to 1GB and been told she'd have to halve her minutes and remove various other parts of her deal "in exchange".

Edit 2: more people have now reported that they are unable to move from 500MB to 1GB without losing parts of their existing allowances - despite the VF statement saying that it is possible

Anything the reps say is part of the company, so if they do not have an answer to your question you will not receive one, as posting incorrect information or going above a managers head is not a good idea.

An official answer is what I am after... as I've put in the title, they deleted this question from their forum, and this happened within a couple of minutes of me asking it. If they have no intention of letting people switch as per their statement, why bother putting it up in the first place?

If their not going to answer it on their official forum why do you think they'll answer it here?

It's a bit of a test really :p I know they don't like the question, but here they can't just delete it like they have done on their forum - it kinda of reflect badly on them if they just ignore it here I guess (though I'm sure most people won't care lol)

Edit: one of the reasons I'm really annoyed with them over their statement and why I'm not letting it drop, is that after they said we could swap our 500MB "unlimited internet" for 1GB (hard cap), the web team first sent me an email confirming it had been done and that nothing else had been changed on my account other than the data allowance. This was then followed by another email a couple of days later saying that they had "made a mistake" and would need to remove my 3000 minutes to landlines...

Hear they can instead to just decide not to post.

Voda reps here, come here to help with "general" problems. These policy issues will not be dealt with here as the forum is out of their control if they need to correct something or post announcements. I doubt you will get an answer, but instead have to reply on official channels or get the support of the regulator OFCOM.

They're busy enough amending/deleting/locking things on their own forum as it is... Well they could just say "sorry we're can't give an answer", better than just ignoring their customers.

Have you had any response to this from contacting the Vodafone Directors Office?

That will be a day when Vodafone will reply/answer questions to their customers.

I emailed twice in 2 weeks using the contact form on Vodafone website regarding an upgrade, they totally ignored my email twice.
