Not so much a vent but still...
Got a card through the door the other day to the occupier, bit weird, the address was hand written but the rest was "urgent call Sam" on 020 8901 7352 the sam bit was hand written the urgent bit was printed. It also had a stamp. Any ideas anyone?

The phone number I believe comes from the Harrow phone exchange
  • Never heard of them! I'm not going to ring if it's that urgent they can contact me properly! Probably a scam:rolleyes:

Could always phone it from a phone box... if your in london should only cost 20p, one way to find out who it is.

There are some scams doing the rounds where it's a premium rate phone line. Don't risk it.

  • I don't live n London so I'm definately not calling, if they can afford to keep putting first class stamps on the cards then I'm sure the rate must be sky high!

I wouldnt ring it if any of the details are as you say printed. I would have checked on google - which the number isnt appearing - and see if that came up with anything.

If it was urgent the person would have rung you or spoken to a neighbour!

I know there have been quite a few similar postings on here recently re methods used by debt collectors.Getting you to ring the number effectivly id s you. Some of these debts have been 6 or 7 years old. This doesnt ring a bell does it?

Yeah its like with emails - if you reply to them they know that that email address is active - and proceed to spam it! The same goes for a house - they will know someone is there and will then also have phone number etc - probably know that it will be gullible people that reply to most of the card drops like that!
