Why Wont My House Sell, Showdown With The Estate Agents

I really would be worried if I was selling a house right now. The market looks like its slowing down although I still expect positve figures from Nationwide and Halifax, for August.
There is an old saying "when the US sneezes the UK catches a cold. Have a look what's happening over there.

Good reading, best of luck to the OP.
We're selling ours and have had 4 viewings in the 7 weeks that it's been on the market plus I dropped the asking price by £5k a week or so ago (I did put it on at the top of the range that was suggested by 3 different valuations).
There's other similar houses selling around our area but the market has definately slowed. As I say someone will come along and simply fall for it - although I am concerned about the slow down in the market, as mentioned, but take solace in the fact that July and August are traditionally quiet months.
I'll be changing agents when our 3 months is up with the one we're with at the moment to see if another agent has any other ideas which may assist in the sale.Live long and prosper0 -

The market has turned - don't get caught chasing the market down!
This isn't true at all. House prices for instance in many parts are rising as fast as any other time thgis year.

....and that's probably because the IR rise hasn't kicked in yet. I said (in my previous post) I expected August figures to be positive, and maybe even September. However you just have to look to the US and Australia to see what could be coming our way! The facts are Houses are now overvalued 4 out of 5 Economists say so!

Had dealings with Bedworth and Coventry Hawkins and found them completely unprofessional and stroppy and incompetent...but can't comment on Nuneaton branch.
Tried to arrange a viewing with Coventry and they never got back to me. I chased several times and they couldn't arrange for a viewing happen.
Sad to say I gave up looking at that house.
Also, their advertising used to say they marketed houses with floorplans, which made me get them round for a valuation. I asked for a floorplan for house I was selling in BedErrrth. They only do them on the "expensive" houses, or so I was told. I kept looking on their website at the expensive houses...no floorplans ever... I contacted them again and pointed out false advertising and the fact they'd lied about using them. I was told their technology wasn't yet up to it. A few weeks later their advert no longer said it.
Went with Russell Cope in the end who were more than happy to use the floorplan we had done privately for £25...highly recommend the floorplan company :T and a floorplan will get over the layout problem mentioned above, will let people see how much space your extension has added...and people will see your house before they view it without the scummy garden problem! You can contact them here.

Your move in Bedworth were also happy to use our floorplan if we went with them, so I guess Your Move, Nuneaton would be too if you decide to stick with them.
