The bank can do it, the FOS know they can do it so they wouldn't even look at your non-complaint. Utter claptrap!

Where do you get your information from? The bank is telling him he must pay off his entire credit card because he is in arrears. This is not something the bank is entitled to do.

And those comments just go to show that this is nothing but a troll posting !!!

The FOS do not entertain any complaint until the banks own internal procedures have been complied with and that take a minimum of 8 weeks !

Househuntr - you seem to call EVERYONE on this board a troll !

Cant people have opinions without you always jumping in ?

Give it a rest.....maybe YOU are the troll !

The bank can freeze the account/stop the overdraft/move the money to the card to pay it without any warning whatsoever and they're fully entitled to do so!

What he said was that the bank cannot tell him to repay the entire credit card balance and he was correct in saying so. You're arguing against a point that no-one is making.

Thats why this story is rubbish. The bank can at anytime just move the money from his account to pay the card. They don't need to tell him/ask him, they'd just do it if it was true.

the bank will not just automatically raid your account if you are in default on a credit card, eventually yes, they will do it, but he's clearly not at that point yet.

Househuntr why not just ignore the thread rather than make post after post criticising it

Given the response I had yesterday I am confused.:(

The bank have still not sent me a letter that they are going to take the money out of my current account to cover my credit card. But I have received a copy of the credit agreement (not the one I signed) with the section highlight about combining accounts. But the front of this agreement is dated 2009 I took out the card in 2005 also note the person I spoken to on the phone did not send a covering not with his name.

I still do not know if they should be asking for all the monies or only the out standing payments?

Please can a sensible person help me out?
