buyer wants to bid but pay in 3 weeks

I'd have to say no. They'd not be too happy if you asked if they could pay now, but wait three weeks for you to post.
Also, doesn't ebay state the seller has to ship within 10 days? So you'd invalidate your seller protection if you didn't ship within that time.
I don't quite get buyers like this, if you don't have the cash now, why not wait till you do, then buy.Sigless0 -
If they can't get a friend/family member to stump up the money for three weeks, why should you wait that long? Chances are they'll never actually buy it as three weeks is a lot of thinking time.0

No, I wouldn't, unless I was feeling in a very good mood, if they appealed to my sense of good naturedness, if I just liked the sound of them. I think it's reasonable to ask for a deposit, then if they change their mind, you won't be out of pocket, and they're more likely to fulfill their obligations.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
the buyer never did bid on the dress but it went for a cracking £28 in the end that may not sound much for some but for something that was just hanging in my wardrobe I am chuffed to bits0

A bidder won 4 of my items on monday evening(07/06).Had a message on Wednesday eve saying that she was going away for 2 weeks on friday and could she pay when she got back.I agreed to this, have i done the wrong thing? Hopefully everything will turn out ok.
I think it's outrageous to ask this, she shouldn't have bid if she knew she didn't want to pay for well over a fortnight. Or she should've paid, but before bidding asked if you'd mind holding onto them for longer.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. .
For paypal protection sellers must ship within 7 days of payment, so if buyer hasn't paid seller is running no risks. Ebay have no time limits for sellers. OP. My experience has always been that once a problem= always a problem. The buyer is obviously broke so I think you run a high risk of buyer remorse even if they do pay and will find fault or try and get a discount for problems later. I would be inclined to bung in NPBs on the lot and if buyer notices within the 4 days just explain that ebay advised you to do this to ensure you can recover your fees if buyer is later unable to pay. make is sound 'whaffly' as though you are a little inexperienced and don't mean to be nasty and are just doing what ebay told you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Pleased the auction turned out well for the OP. There's a lot of misinformation about though isn't there?0

Personally would not sell to them and block their used ID from bidding as a previous poster suggested because I would bet good money in 3 weeks you ask for payment and either get no reply or the desire to purchase has deminished and excuses begin leaving you still with an item to sell for the sake of perhaps gaining a couple of quid.0

You would lose your good money. I've allowed this a few times and never been let down. Moot point anyway as the seller has finished the auction.0
