I've done this a few times. I have no idea why so many think it's unsafe. You don't post until you get the money, so it only differs by the time frame.

Its unsafe if you want PP seller protection as you will be sending outside the 7 days. You will automatically lose any claim be it INR or a SNAD due to this

    Your not wrong...

Perhaps you could wind your neck in slightly. My understanding of Paypal protection is the item must be posted within seven days of receiving payment. So, apart from the fact that this "protection" is virtually worthless anyway, what's the danger? As for a SNAD, you would lose that every time.
This is a judgement issue, one those of us who have been in business for decades face often. Is it worth your while?

Personally I think it's cheeky and would say no. Its not 'in the spirit of Ebay' to bid onsomething that you know you cant pay for. Mind you, not that Ebay gives a s**t any more...

    What's their feedback like?

I'd hazard a guess at 100% - just like every other buyer, good ones and scammers.

I'd block and ignore to be honest - it's not like a seller could get away with telling buyers that they'd have to wait 3 weeks before an item could be posted.

You need to post within 7 days of receiving payment, not within 7 days of the auction finishing, so that's irrelevant.

It's fine as long as you don't mind waiting, i've done it loads as mcfly says it's only if your bothered about the waiting. If a buyer is honest enough to contact you they normally genuinly want the item and pay up when they say there going to.
Better than having someone bid, you wait 4 days for a npb, then another 4 i think before closing it and then your 7 days on auction again.

I had a buyer purchase a buy it now on 20/5 and then win 3 of my auctions on 23/5 - and still haven't paid. First I was told they had a payal problem that they were trying to resolve so I suggested sending a cheque. Cheque was apparently no use as paypal had alledgedly emptied their account and asked would I like to do a mututal cancellation. I declined the mutual cancellation and kept and eye on their feedback score for a few days which was increasing at a fair old rate of knots.

I requested payment (a further 3 days notice) by Friday (11/6) as quite clearly the paypal problem had been resolved, only to be told that the buyer shared the account with her sister (who was responsible for all the recent purchases and feedback) and that the paypal problem still wasn't resolved and as such buyer was having to rely on family to give her money. As such she wants to wait until 22/6 until payday to pay me! Feel really p****d off but can't afford to lose over £40 worth of sales.
