What an entertaining thread.
The system of standing orders and direct debits affecting available funds over a weekend when they are due on the first working day of the week ,is because the funds are 'reserved' as money needs to be paid in on the previous working day to cover standing orders and direct debits.
Can I just say that the reverse is also true. If money is due in to account on the first working day of the week, it is also available for withdrawal at the weekend.0 -
