Today i finally got everything sent off to the CCCS and feel a mixture of postive and negative.
I know its the right thing but i've been plagued with thoughts like what if the creditors dont think i'm offering them enough? What if they issue me with CCJ's becuase i'm not paying them enough ? (if they do , do i have to go to court in person? ) what if i end up with charging orders on the house or i'm forced to sell it?
I'm sure i am being stupid... my sane head is telling me that finger crossed it will be paid off in 7 yrs and that not a bad time frame (i'm seen far longer ones) and at least they will be getting there money back .
Someone knock some sense into me please lol x0 -
Hello
I have posted a few times over last year and had been pretty much managing things myself - sending payments - some reduced payments but keeping in touch with cc companies etc. However had some very large unexpected bills last few months and this has thrown us off track. I have had a few difficult letters from companies, which I have responded to, and made token payments but have now realised that DMP is the way to go - via CCCS. Really just wanting some quick advice right now in the early stages.
I completed debt remedy yesterday and received email summarising everything and then clicked on 2nd stage to go onto debt remedy and have received 2nd email with full details of payments etc. However i realise I have missed off a couple of companies I owe money to and our food budget is really quite tight.
I tried today to get through on phone but couldnt wait too long as on way off to do some work. Basically - can I contact CCCS to readjust some figures or should I just start again and resubmit figures as new Debt Remedy. Any advice welcome - or just tell me if posting in wrong place - thansk RON0 -
You can contact them and should contact them with the ammended figures, I am not sure of their opening times but I am sure when I used to post many moons ago someone advised to ring when popular soap operas were on, as they always got through then! Keep trying and good luck:)0

Hi Goingforward, I had to smile when I saw your post as I'm having those exact same feelings! Sometimes I think that it is the waiting for things to happen that causes you to start conjuring up all sorts of things. I've had my pack from CCCS today with a breakdown of figures and these have helped me to see that it just might be o.k.
Just keep telling yourself that they can't have what you haven't got and that you are paying the most that you can afford.
I try to break everything down into smaller chunks and as I pass each DMP milestone I realise that I'm still here and some of the terrible things that I have conjured up in my head haven't happened:o

On a positive note my dad came home today .. although he's got to go back for a MRI scan to see exactly whats going on . My husband is off to see his specialist next week and hopefully he will be told his chemo is keeping his arthritus at bay and not affecting his liver/kidneys. And i have to beautiful happy kids so all in all debts aside life isnt too bad xxx
Oh I am glad that your dad is o.k. and fingers crossed for your hubby too! It's funny isn't it that at times like this you really do cherish your family and realise that money doesn't even figure in the bigger scheme of things:)

Had my first communication back from Egg in 4 months. Good news, at last. Interest stopped, thank you!
2 more creditors to get on board, diary note to chase them again next week.
Happy weekend everyone.

We had to make a couple of adjustment after we did the final debt remedy; one was an insurance policy I put on by accident (I was in a blind panic at the time:eek:) and the other was a cc of OH, that we realised we only had a few quid to pay on it.
We rang CCCS and they were fine about it; they made the adjustments and told us the new total.DMP mutual support thread member:3880 -
Must be something in the air because I am full of uncertaintly today.
We had our first default notice through with no reference to Payplan (they have had one token payment and one payplan payment). Is this just standard?
I had also written to them myself (on OH's behalf - debt primarily in his name but OUR debt) although I don't think it would have reached them in time.
We also had a phone call from NatWest. OH braced himself but it was just to confirm that it was us going on to a DMP and that they were forwarding everything to another dept.
Feeling a bit scared now.DMP mutual support member 3970 -
Hi all I have been lurking for a while and after sitting down with facts and figures I have just been slapped in the face. I have an appointment with CCCS on Monday having just had a refund paid by DFH. My trouble is I have debts of aprox £28,500 on 5 cards but my calculator is only telling me I have £280 spare each month to pay this back. I am convinced this will not be enough to satisfy creditors but how does it compare with other peoples debts and subsequent arrangements. My SOA is fine but as I am Self Employed and am currently having a slight down turn my fixed costs for work remain static and therefore can not save any of these costs. I have 2 endowments maturing in 3 years and this will pay off a secured loan which in turn frees up £550 per month. HELP HELP HELP0
