I rang about a month when the CCCS wrote to say they would not accept the reduced payment. At this point they were calling me 3 times a day. They said that they had not received correspondance from CCCS. I arranged for the CCCS to resend info and then received another letter about 2 weeks later from the CCCS stating that the Halifax had refused DMP as I had used card recently. Its a joke as I was using all cards to pay for food tec as I had no money left after paying all min payments and this did not seem to be a problem with all the other ccs.
I will not phoned again but I have written and will send by recorded delivery. I feel quite strongly about this. I understand that they do not have to stop interest but to increase it by 3 fold after us taking advce by CCCS is just taking the

I don't know what it is about Halifax - lots of people seem to have problems with them but, tbh, they were really helpful with us and stopped the interest etc straight away. Then the debts were passed on to Blair, Oliver Scott and they've been fine too.
Anyhow, just a heads up to fellow DMPers. I got a letter from BLS Collections today, I was mystified as I thought these were just the in-house DCA for Lloyds. I phoned up and asked BLS what the craic was - it turns out that due to the Lloyds TSB merger/take-over of HOBS, all the outstanding Halifax and BOS current accounts that have been dealt with by Blair, O, S, are now passing to BLS. So anyone in my boat, this was a 5k overdraft, you'll be getting a change too.
To be fair, they were absolutely fine. Said they've accepted the DMP payment as it stands. I phoned CCCS to let them know about the change. Jobs a good 'un.
Hope everyone's bearing up and knitting woolly knickers for winter :rotfl:0 -

But I struggle every month particularly with food shopping and petrol, we never ever have any money! I just dont get it, according to our I & E that I did with CCCS we should be fine, but we've got nothing left, well not enough to eat with or anything!!
any ideas guys???? what are we doing wrong? i am soooooo confused, sad, depressed and upset!!!!
Have you sat down and gone through your outgoings again to make you've included everything? It's all too easy to let some little things slip through but it can be enough to upskittle your budget.
And the cost of living is rising dramatically - perhaps you need to re-assess your payments to CCCS?
You're paying a hefty chunk each month, so perhaps you could cut yourselves a little slack. CCCS understand you still need to live.

Hey Twitty - When you're all paid up does that mean you won't post on the forum any more?
Thanks for all your kind words Growurown
I hope to pop back now and again to update and see how you all are doing.
But already I'm lurking more than posting at the moment -feeling a bit like a misplaced person
Still plodding on paying my DMP payment every month, living to the budget, but involved in lots of intense written/phone negotiating.
I'm stuck in this strange betwixt and between place, and don't know quite where I 'belong' anymore!

Hi people, wonder if you can offer any advice please?
Bit of background, been on a DMP now for 4 years and paid off a substantial amount of my debt!
Earlier this year Natwest (CMS), my main creditor, decided to hit my 2 O/D accounts with horrendous interest and charges, i managed to negotiate away the charges but the interest was "duly applied".
Now i'm not disputing this fact, the fact is why have they only just decided to tell me about this 4 years down the line? i'm thinking i am making great inroads to a balance which 'secretly' is getting larger!
Because i kept disputing the balances with Natwest (CMS) they kept rejecting my annual offer (Payplan) of payment for the accounts (because they had increased significantly the payments were no longer pro rata to the 'new' balances'). Now my 3 NW debts (1 x loan, 2 x O/D) have been passed to CapQuest. I have lodged a formal complaint with the Financial ombudsman service.
1) Do you think this will be successful? Have they done anything underhand ie not telling me about the interest in the previous 4 years?
Also
2) I am also thinking about sending F&F settlement letters to all my creditors (except Capquest for the moment), to be fair to them all i don't hear anything from them year on year, do you think i might 'disturb' them so to speak by doing this? might they start charging interest etc if they do not accept my offers (about 30%)?
3) I have signed the letters personally (not sent yet tho) and i have read on here that signing letters can be dodgy is there any truth to this?
Thanks.Sorry if i have bored you!0 -

Hi let me know if you receive any advise about the F&F. I too was thinking around 30% but not sure if this will be acceptable.DMP start date Sept 2011 - 10,150

Hi
Don't want to say too much because I'm involved in delicate stages of offering/rejecting on F + F's (this is to ALL my creditors) and it's been a long, drawn out process.
What is acceptable is a huge grey area!!! Some on other sites will go lower but are prepared for huge amounts of legal stuff.
I will post fully when my affairs are settled but for now, will only say we're higher than 30%.......

Hi All,
I am on a self managed DMP, we had our LBM at the beggining of the year, and i have been managing ok on my own for the past 6 months, we are in for the long haul, currently paying £800 a month on debt of £56000
MBNA have stopped interest on my hubbys CC but not mine, despite sending numerous letters and I&E sheets  I have now decided to stop paying them the £77 a month as they are still hammering me £100 interest and £12 late payment fees  so i am hoping at some point they will pass me over to a debt collecter....
LloydsTSB have frozen interest on my CC and reduced to 6% on hubbys and i have now had a letter from them to say my hubbys 'special arrangement' has come to an end, so will send them a letter stating nothing has changed in our circumstances, and fingers crossed they keep him on the arrangement.
Halifax have been great, frozen interest straight away.
Santander have passed my loan to DCA and they agreed to the monthly payments, still got a loan and CC with them that they have yet to agree or pass over..
Why is is the same creditor has different ways of dealing with people, even people who are financially linked
Drives me mad !!
I am really stuggleing at the moment to make ends meet at the end of the month, so i am going to do my expenditure again, as my household income has dropped and bills etc have gone up, so i will see if i need to reduce my payments.... at this point do you think its better to go with payplan or CCCS, as they might not accept the decrease in payments from me... waht do you think ?0 -
Hi All
Haven't been around for a while. My DMP has been running just over a year and jsut had my yearly review, it was a little late as I was waiting to see if I was going to get a pay rise which was on the cards but never came about.
The year has been a bit of a struggle and having both my motorbike and washing machine break down, the washing machine was replaced but the bike is destined for the scrapheap.
CCCS have upped our payments by £15 p.m which means some creditors are getting an extra 27p a month .
I do have one question; does anyone know how CCCS go about calculating how much each creditor gets from our payment to them?
