CCCS didn't query that we hadn't told them and, as the DMP isn't legally binding they could probably only express disapproval if anything.
Hi THanks. I was just thinking about putting some away for CHristmas plus car needs some work. I get pay rise in Oct and was thinking of telling them in Jan. Its only about £75 extra a month. Also, I need to contact them in Jan because I finish paying a loan to family and friends then so would up payment anyway. I think I will go along that route. xxx0 -
Hi all, just popped in for a little rant about Natwest. Does anyone have any dealings with them. Over £3k of my debt is with them and they keep adding interest. I haven't hadstatements offthem since my dmp started in 2008 and they never reply to a letter. i might complain to the fos about them as that usually does the job. a few months ago cccs wrote to tell me natwest no longer accepted the agreement (as if they ever did) and that my debt is being passed to a dca but i haven't heard anything since. i just wish they'd bloody do it so the interest would stop going up. grrrr!
Natwest are a compete nightmare to deal with. They are the only ones who are still adding interest on, so I will still be paying them off months after all the others have finished. They also throw all their toys out the pram every 6 months and tell me they no longer recognise the DMP. I have to keep badgering CCCS to write to them again and again to advise them of the plan!:mad:0 -
Natwest are complete 'mares about eveything, we had the not recognising the DMP and adding interest on for the 1st year but the month after the 1 year anniversary of DMP they decided to stop interest, think they finally realised they were flogging a dead horse!!!! Flamin idiots:mad:1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:
[STRIKE]Car Loan = £0[/STRIKE] CCCS Total = £30,246.88 Total Debt Paid off - 32.78%
DFD [STRIKE]Nov[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Sept[/STRIKE]Aug 2018:o Only 75 payments to go:)0 -

Firstly, this is a stressful time so it's a shame you can't share your difficulties with your husband - you know, if I was him, I'd rather know than find out unexpectedly sometime down the road.... anyhow, your business.
On the creditors, we've had no-one come to the door, we've been on the DMP for approaching a year. Of your creditors, we've experience of Barclaycard, RBS, Tesco CC and Next. Tesco and Next couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Barclaycard have been absolutely fine, RBS haven't been unpleasant but just really disorganised.
Going on the DMP was the best thing we could have done. Best of luck.
SAAC13
Thank you SAAC13. That's very reassuring. I've decided to go ahead with the DMP. I know it's the best option for me at the moment. The advice on this forum is fantastic and very supportive. Thanks again.

Hiya,
I sent my DMP letters off with my offers to all my creditors last week, not heard from anyone yet, but have a problem...
When doing my statement of income and expenses I did not include living costs such as food, petrol, car ins and tax etc. The reason for this is that I am not including my OH's income and exps as it is my DMP only, so when it came to priority bills I worked out my benefits compared to his income is 15% so I worked out 15% of the bills for my expenses. If they queried food costs etc I was going to say that all of that comes out of his income. Now though I am regretting doing that and think maybe I should have included my proportion??
Do you think I should write to them again with corrected figures? the problem is that seriously reduced what I have left to divide among creditors!!
Please advise, thanks!0 -
Hi, first time I have written but after reading the postings on here I finally got the courage up to contact CCCS and start our DMP. We have a 1800 OD with Halifax and a 11000 Mastercard Debt with Halifax and 2 store cards (NEXT & Debenhams) each with about 1000.
The Pack has arrived and we have set up a new joint bank account and tonight we plan to complete it. Feeling a bit embarrassed and very nervous.0 -

If you need to include then you definitly should, I think CCCS would probably advise you to put down half of the joint food shop etc, and then put something down for petrol etc. Even if your payments are quite low to start off with you don't want to leave yourself struggling to get the money together for fuel etc.0 -

Every one goes through the embarrased and nervous stage, don't worry! I still have to keep my mouth shut to a lot of my family and friends about the DMP. Just keep coming back onto MSE and that will keep you going!0 -
Hi MoneyAngel, you should really put something down for these otherwise a) you risk leaving yourself really short or b) the budget just won't look right. It's better to go into it with a true representation and low payment than go in unrealistic and end up having to cut payment to the creditors later. We went in really low and have gradually upped our payment as and when we realised we could manage.
Hi SolidAir, like DizzyDizzy says everyone goes through the embarrassed stage of feeling like a divvy for getting in this position. But then, for me anyhow, you move through that pretty quickly and feel pretty chuffed with yourself to be dealing with it sensibly and pragmatically. There's no point in beating yourself up over past decisions, just get on with what's next. The DMP was the best thing we could have done tbh.0 -

Thanks sick!
The poblem is, now I have amended the figures I only have £40 to share among my creditors and so some of them I can only offer a couple of pounds a month!! that just seems ridiculous! on the size of the debts! are they likely to accept such puny amounts?0
