Nah - early days yet. Sent the letters recorded, awaiting responses.
But I can't believe how shaky I feel. Ain't no spring chicken and I was in this for the long haul, so I know deep down I should be thankful I'm now able to make these offers. But the money has come to me through the death of my Mum, and know which one I'd rather have with me today.
Sorry didn't mean to get maudlin
Thanks for asking, I will sure keep you updated.

I've been working through two F & F's - one completed (yay!), the other I'm playing postal tennis with - they can't seem to put the words "full" and final" together on paper!!
All the best, YPx
Hey, YP, can I be cheeky and ask what % you offered? Am considering making Sainsburys Visa an offer (No, a clean one this time!!):rotfl:
Would be interested to hear how you tackled it all!
Thanks,

Thanks for your support and understanding YP (you too TF!)
Please let us know how it goes for you. When you say 'working through' etc it sounds like this could all be a long, protracted experience.:(
Hope you get some sucess soon.

Thankyou m'dear, and ditto for you too
Know you and Sainsburys are bosom pals and you can hardly bear the thought of parting from them :rotfl:
Re:your question to YP. I know them 'hard lot' on the UE site talk about 10% (and even less) for offers and then £250 increments. But this is stop payments, be prepared for court etc
I've pitched higher, so we'll see how it goes.

Just an update:
Nationwide (KPR) have settled for £2200 on £4400 credit card debt and £300 on £700 overdraft debt.
They sent acceptable letters with info needed, but will only mark credit record as a 'partial settlement'0 -

I think working through sums it up really - there's an awful lot of to-ing and fro-ing, firstly to get an amount agreed between you, then trying to pin them down to put all the necessary wording in writing before you pay up. I'm at that stage with one creditor now who I'd rather not name for the minute. An amount was agreed over the phone but I can't get a satisfactorily worded letter before I give them any money. It's rather like banging your head against a brick wall but I hope I'll get there! I don't want to make it sound awful and put you off, but snails' pace/walking through treacle seem apt descriptions of the process!the_tooth_fairy wrote: »Hey, YP, can I be cheeky and ask what % you offered? On a happier note my other F & F was with Cabot Financial who bought my Egg card account. I settled at approx 66% which I think is too high for a debt sold on but they wouldn't budge after much negotiating and it worked out well with the amount I had to use for F & F's so I went for it. Most of the negotiating of the figure was done by e-mail for speed then I asked them to put it all in writing so I could pay up. This was also rather painful and in the end I had to phone up and dictate paragraphs to them several times (one time it was all worded perfectly but the payment date was wrong!!), all the time aware of deadlines approaching. I can't pretend it isn't stressful but we all know it's better to do it all right rather than rushing into paying up just to get it done with (though, God, it's tempting sometimes) and get stung further down the line. I have to say that although they needed a LOT of prodding Cabot were always pleasant to deal with and in the end did what I asked.
I'll keep you posted on any progress with my current F & F. Best of luck with it to you both, you'll get there! And congrats to you Jules1973 on your successes with Nationwide.

Good Evening All.
We are going to call the CCCS and get our DMP set up tomorrow (not what we want but can't see a way out of it), does anyone know where I can find or has a template of a 'holding letter' that I can send to the CC companies once I have made token payments?
I estimate we will have £300 a month to pay to CCCS, will this be enough for them?0 -
Hi there, I have a DMP with CCCS and its seems to be going ok, i have recently moved and my flatmate is concerned that my debt will affect the credit rating for the flat (which she owns), if im registered at this address with the cccs will it affect the propertys credit rating? My mail is being redirected for everything else, including my bank statements etc and obv am not applying for credit. is there anything i can do so her/the property isnt affected?
many thanks!Credit Card Debt:[STRIKE]£12991[/STRIKE] £12526

Hiya, the first letter from section 5 should help in this situation:
http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#6
Depends on your debt (I'm estimating 25k), that amount isn't unreasonable (I first started out paying £160 on 38k of debt!).DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

Hey
I wouldn't send any letters to creditors yet as CCCS will send you a template letter to send to your creditors which you can put token payments with. I found CCCS very fast and I received this information within a couple of days.
Regarding your £300 there is no minimum or maximum amount they accept for payments as the DMP is tailored around what you can afford after bills/shopping/clothing etc
CCCS were very helpful for me (and still are!) and this thread has been a very useful tool for me to!
