  • Morning folks,

Sorry I haven't posted for a while - life getting in the way! Hope all is well with everyone. Waiting for a hearing date at a local court re Nationwide, can't wait for that! Had a letter from Moorcroft this morning saying they will accept £120 a month, they HAVE to be joking!! Phoned them up in a bit of a mood to tell them Payplan are dealing with this. I must be getting better at this cos normally I would have just ignored it. Anyway, off to enjoy the lousy weather here at local agricultural show with OH & DS - joy! Have a good day all. Will come back later and have a proper read at all the posts.

Good luck especially with Nationwide .
Found it exactly the same once the DMP was set up. So empowering to say to creditors "deal with CCCS" (in my case).

  • Hi All,

Quick question, just about to start making token payments to my creditors, was wondering about some of my credit cards as they are still in a promotional period of 0% interest and if i stop making minimum payments they will start charging me, but I have to include all of them in a DMP dont I? the periods are not due to end yet either as some are fairly new cards....should I take the hit and include them?

    Thanks
  • Hi, this is my first post here :/ hope someone can help.

Im considering taking out a dmp due to mounting c/card debt which I cant continue to pay the ridiculous amounts of interest on.

I have looked thoroughly into it and CCCS have advised me to open a new bank account as I have debt with natwest who I bank with, an OD and 2 CCs (stupidly!)

With the pile of CCs I have, I cant really see where I can go for an account...can anyone help? It seems that a highstreet bank/group owns all of my cards so if I take this route i'll be stuck for a bank account :(

Its taken me so long to face up to this, will be madness if I cant do it just because of my bank account.

    I have debts with:
    Barclaycard Credit Card
    Cahoot Credit Card
    Cahoot Overdraft
    Cahoot Credit Card
    Cahoot Overdraft
    Capital One Credit Card
    Capital One Credit Card
    Egg Credit Card
    MBNA Credit Card
    Monument Credit Card
    mothercare Store Card
    Natwest Credit Card
    Natwest Overdraft
    Natwest Credit Card
    santander Store Card
    HSBC credit card
If anyone in the know can help me find someone on the highstreet I dont owe money to i'd be really grateful!
Also, my partner is not included in my DMP and has a natwest account, would I be able to be added to his account or would this mean that they can take his money too?
such a minefield :( any help would be great :)

Hi there, just like you we have various CC's and most are tied to high street banks. I changed banks on Thursday afternoon to the Co-op Cash Minder, it's a basic account with no overdraft and no cheque facility but they were really helpful and couldn't have helped more if they tried. Only took about 10 mins before they gave me a decision :j

Might be worth you giving them a call - 0845 602 7057 (hope I'm allowed to give out the number, if not MOD's please tell me off and remove).
  • Does anyone what HSBC and first direct are like for dipping into accounts? I have an overdraft with HSBC that I am including in my DMP but we have a joint bank account with first direct that we use for all our bills except my DMP creditors. As its a joint account can the HSBC take money out of it?
  • Hi

I just wondered if anyone had an experience of missing a payment? Ive been on a DMP since Feb and all been going well, but now the boiler (same old story!) has gone and we have no hot water or heating. We are washing by filling the bath by the kettle but we will need heating in the autumn...

All my debts have gone down to 0% so i dont want to rock the boat and them start charging me again but we do need a boiler...

Any advice/comments would be gratefully recieved,

    Thanks

  • Hello all,

Wonder if someonce can help as this is the first time I have posted on this thread...

Situation changed and i'm leaving the country for good end of this year. As a result of that, i need to set aside some cash for my relocation expenses and won't be able to pay all my creditors like i used to......

I've decided to set up my own DMP plan on 12/08/2011 and sent out proposal for reduced payment to all of my creditors (Loan with Natwest and CC debt with MBNA and Barclays). I have never defaulted on my loans and have only been able to make minimum monthly payment for my CCs.

Due date for my monthly repayment to all 3 will be end of this month, so what should i do? Should i send them a token payment and how much?

Do i need to follow up with them re: my initial letter? or should i just wait until they get back to me?

Anything else that I need to consider before end of this year re: this DMP?

    Appreciate any advice!!

Things go wrong in life. Call CCCS they will probably agree to stop for a month or two. Write to you creditors with a quote for replacement so they can see its genuine and youre not just trying to pull a fast one. It may kick off some madness, you can never tell, if it does appeal, seemples!

I had to make token payments last month to have unexpected car work done, applying above worked for me.

    Good luck.

Upto you on tokens, I'd go for a pound each. More likely to get them on board I reckon.

    Good luck.
