Regarding a GCSE in DMP, I did read this article the other day, which I thought was a great idea!

hi all, looking for th ebest way to resolve my debt situation, considering an IVA or a DMP.

about half of my debts are at a fixed rate for life of balance. its 16k but fixed at 5%.

then i have a debt of around 5k at 25%. mbna
and a 7k approx at 20% egg + cahoot

I can meet the monthly repayments ( always skint) but cant see when the 25% + 20% debts will ever be cleared.

Has anyone had success at getting interest frozen with a DMP, or an I better off with an IVA. I am wary of defaulting on my payments as this will make things worse with late charges etc.

I think a few people have had their interest frozen, I think mine all were after about 6 months. As to what's best, it depends on your situation. Read Martin's guide on IVAs: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/pdf-iva-guide.pdf

I have interest frozen with all three. These took about 3 months have been on DMP for 3 years this Sept and still all remains same, in fact MBNA keeps crediting me a £1 each month because they get my DM payment early.
