I have just submitted my details to CCCS after going through their debt remedy, this has been a huge step for me but this site and the people on here have inspired me to do this and I just want to say thank you to everyone. You have all helped me whether you know it or not!

Do I need a member number now to join this thread?

Nah - you just pitch in with your questions/thoughts/comments etc. Your number helps you feel part of our 'exclusive DMP doing our best in adversity club' though! Sure ianmak will get his abacus out soon :rotfl: and allocate you a number.
    Best wishes to you.

    Hello to all,
Not been around these last couple of weeks or so, hope everyone is going on OK.
I have been working like a drudge and then had some holiday (you just can't keep a gal away from those £9-00 Travelodge deals :))
Have also been very busy writing one on my 'letters.' Put forward the case to my employers for an upgrade to my post and lo and behold- success :D Small increase in salary so need to recalculate my budget. Hope to update my signature soon as also had interest reduced, so at long last I'm making some progress and seeing the debt go down. I think I'll
Probably will need a beer as going salsa dancing for the first time on Monday (eek!)

OH and I have both had many default notices from RBS and they are still charging interest, albeit at 'lower' rates.
Received a letter yesterday from my RBS Visa ( I sent a letter asking them to freeze interest) stating that they had moved my 'complaint' to Stage 2 of their procedure. It could take 4 weeks+ to have any resolution, but will let you know how I get on. I don't think there's any point in OH chasing up his until we find out what they are doing with my RBS. Am not very optimistic, though.

Ooooh. Stage 2 of their procedure. That must mean someone (hopefully with half a brain, a kindly disposition and a smattering of common-sense) will actually read the notes and consider your case.
Good luck. Nil desperandum and all that!

May I just mention, once again, that Moorcroft is driving me insane??! They send a lovely threatening letter regarding our Tesco loan from their "pre-litigation" department, saying we're ignoring them and that they may (yes, may) take us to court, and that they've had to confirm with a "major utility" that we still live at this address. Well, um... since we've been in constant contact with Tesco regarding our loan, making monthly payments (albeit reduced), and just recently checked base with Tesco to check the status of the account (which, again, they can't just say "we own it, but moorcroft is acting as DCA" they have to say it so that we aren't quite sure who owns it - so have to demand clarification AGAIN, and then they say they'll let moorcroft know to contact us). So Moorcroft should rightly know that we are at this address. Extremely aggravating. I am going to write a cross letter tonight to both places and insist that it is spelled out who precisely currently owns this debt. If it is Tesco, we will send payments there. If not, fine, but we have a right to know in clear language what is going on with our account. (can you tell I'm reaching boiling point with some of the purposely confusing language used by these creditors?) I am sure they do it to keep customers who are in debt in a panic so they will agree to anything to settle things down. Arrrrggghhhhh

And our washer is broken and we have to replace it. Not a good day.

Sorry things are such cr*p for you at the moment. As you say a lot of the tactics are to scare and panic you. (And when you are in a vulnerable position, unfortunately it really does hit home)
Stay calm and . Hope you get some sense from them (I really shouldn't say 'Every little helps' cos that would be in bad bad taste wouldn't it? :o
As to the washer, what about trying Freecycle? Also Comet discount site for shop-soiled items or even good old E-bay?
Hope it all starts to improve soon.

    Welcome back

You certainley can't beat those £9 deals, I had a £19 one on Monday to celebrate my birthday, the room was basic but for one evening it was all I required, maybe our MPS should follow in our footsteps ;)

Well done on the salary increase and the interest reduction, it all helps doesn't it.

Enjoy the salsa dancing and more importantly the beer ;):D

Perhaps I'd best not mix the two? Could lead to some interesting results! :D
Happy belated birthday to you and well done with your Halifax battle.:)

    Morning Folks

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Update on my Preditors. DMP started 2/3 months ago. Just on the verge of my 3rd payment to CCCs and them making 2nd payment to Preditors tomorrow.

    12 in total.

John Lewis and Marks and Spencer & Tesco CCs accepted DMP for one year and froze interest
First Direct Loan accepted DMP (they get higher amount as amount worked out on % of contractual amount- my dmps are -33% of what I was paying)
    MBNA reduced interest to 9.9%
M&S reserve, First Direct, RBS, Egg, Hallifax, Mint and Barclaycard CCs are still charging interest at rates upto 32% and applying late charges.

I've just written letters to all the non responders to ask them to reconsider decisions re not stopping interest.

Bought a bagain slow cooker in Aldi for £14. Been cooking pot meals over the weekend. Hoping to cut down on grocery bill. Did U switch a few weeks ago and am now with same suppliers I was but saved £200 per year through 15 mins work. Will need it as car has been a nightmare and my wages are going to be going down £30 over next year (tax code issues) Not having emergency fund is very scary. Trying to keep in there.

Hope everyone managing to keep the DMP gremlins at bay and a huge thanks for all the support.

    HHx
