Hiya Rayday! Hope you are well! Not sure on reducing payments, I guess honesty is the best policy with them, but not sure how they'd react? Is it quite a big drop then?

Things are pretty pants really - been bullied out of work literally (which I know is pathetic for an adult to say!) and I have lost my fight.

Well I guess they are getting approximately half pro rata if you get me. Biggest drop is £31 to £15, the smaller ones are only dropping like £4 or £5 ish.

Well the letters are in the post now can't go back on it, still going it alone because the charities all say to sell the house. But we are in a really bad area, and our mortgage is probably what our rent would be and renting seems so uncertain. We would have to sacrifice our animals, not being able to decorate. Plus house prices having fallen no one would buy in our area.

Anyway less woe is me, hope things are OK for you, its nice to see a name I remember. I lost touch with the board throwing myself into full time work - that worked out well then :rotfl:

Welcome back ex-rayday. You were very helpful to me amongst others when I started my DMP nearly 3 years ago.
You'll soon get yourself sorted, have faith!

Was that 3 years ago? Gosh its gone by quick, I feel a bit out the loop now after a while it becomes so "normal" when you DIY that you routinely up payments etc and now I feel a bit fish out of water and panicky again. Silly really probably the real life stuff impairing my judgements.

    Thank you anyway :)

I've just realised that I've not had a statement from American Express for 3years until one turned up today.

Also I've got an old letter from one company saying they won't charge interest/late payment fees yet on checking I think I've paid about £500 since then.

    HI

Does anyone know the complaints procedure for Barclays partner finance? Just realised i've been charged 9 lots of £22.50 since 2005 for late payments. Payplan make the payments! And considering my monthly payment to them is only £8.70, i'm now way behind with the arrears :(

I don't know the specific Barclays procedure. But when claiming interest back I always write to the address for correspondence I have but put in a huge font "formal complaint" I think that way they have to take you seriously. You know they have treated it as a formal complaint when they write back with a leaflet with your ombudsman rights and usually a letter to say they are looking into it before you actually get there response. Sorry I can't help more than that, which you probably already know.

Has anyone had a letter from SCM Solicitors to do with Lloyds? Judging by the address which is the same as one of their collection offices I am assuming it is the newer letter they use to make you think it is at the solicitors, in the past I always got the silver paper, but in a recession I suppose they have to resort to white thin paper.

    Hi

Yes i got a letter from them before my debt was passed onto their inhouse dca. They said they had to send out the letters before the debt went to their dca, to state that i had defaulted on the account, which was a good thing for me, because it meant interest was going to be stopped!

Thanks Mozzy, I sort of knew not to be worried when I saw the address was the same, but when its you there is still that uncertainty. I think I will file it away until next week and then deal with it, as my letter offering a smaller amount has crossed in the post.

Lloyds have just defaulted me after being the most difficult of my creditors. Don't know why they weren't treated any different from any of the others. Anyway, I suppose I can now expect a lovely letter as well. I have to say PP have been excellent in helping me deal with them. Been on a DMP for 3 years and so far (touch wood) they have been the only recent fly in the oitment.
