Hello all, I have managed to bring myself back from the pit of doom and gloom. Had a bit of a set to with my senior manager and I am now in possession of a letter stating that all of my backdated mileage allowance will be in next months salary. Its a start though how I am going to get through the month is anyones guess. Ho hum. No further forward on the tax rebate. ho hum.
payday today, not that it makes a great deal of difference. I rang one of the other debt charities today, they do not currently operate in my area, but are opening a new centre in a few weeks, can you possibly call back then?! Laugh? You bet I did!

Finances threatened to derail me over the last couple of days, realised that it is the last weekend before payday, so things are always a little tight.
Received a letter from british gas saying they had tried to take a dd but there were insuficient funds in my account, which i knew to be untrue. immediately anxiety levels are rising, cold sweat at the thought of bank charges etc.
I rang the bank and they said that british gas cancelled the dd back in November?!!!!! I have been submitting my electricity readings online to british gas every month, and they email me confirmation of a bill, which I assumed had been paid. didnt specifically look at my bills account as I know that it is always in credit, therefore had no reason to suspect that anything was amiss, double checked and there have been no payments for my elec this year.
what are the implications of BG asking for this money back?
Lesson learned, will regularly review what dd's go out of my account. I feel as though I need eyes in the back of my head.
Have a great day all
when credit decreased instead of using correct bank details, the took money from my old account that is very overdrawn. I am suprised lloydstsb have not written to me to state that they are going to charge me! No doubt it will be well over its overdraft limit, I think this is one for me to appeal to the ombudsman about. I have already sent my complaint to british gas and am awaiting a response.
I have stated that they are causing me unecessary hardship.
Is there some sort of collective madness going on with utility companies at the moment???????Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task

It's unenforceable. I'm a year in now and have paid back £16812.00! I've done loads of research, as I pay regularily etc etc what's stopped has stopped, it will either last out status quo or they will start charging again. Ah well will just have to wait and see. Might have to have a chocolate biscuit before bed!
Don't let the bed bugs bite folks.

Well Done, HH! i remember when you told me to appreciate all the milestones along the way, and it really helps! I can hardly wait till the end of April, not only because I have some long overdue time off, but we will have got our total down to £49K. Considering we started with £69,512, I can hardly believe it. Just imagining what that £20,000 would have bought over the last 20 months makes me more determined that the 'preditors' aren't getting any more of our hard earned cash!
Sorry I haven't been about for a while, thankfully things are pretty quiet, but I do read all the posts, and am willing everyone on! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, I'm off to work!

Morning All
It's my birthday today, and all I can think about is the letter I received yesterday from Link Financial Outsourcing, "Letter Before Action".
I've been on a DMP with CCCS for 2.5 years without any major issues (1 CCJ), but hav always had problems with GE Money beause its a joint loan (and I don't know where my ex is), they sent me a letter a few months ago saying they were selling the loan to Link, and I let CCCS know and they said fine and would update the payments to them etc and I though no more about it.
Yesterday I got the letter mentioned above, and I'm not sure what to do, I will speak to CCCS about it, but it's just made my birthday into a bad day and I wanted to rant about it, sorry

Happy birfday!!!
Is this the first letter you've received from Link? If so I'd imagine it's a standard letter. Try not to worry for today, but do speak to CCCS or Link. I'll see if I can find any letters I've received from Link to see if it mentions the same.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Afternoon all
Happy birthday tranceaddict :bdaycake: - try not to let them spoil your birthday.
I haven't been on for a while sorry guys, hope everyone is well, not being harassed and having their interest frozen (I can dream) I am currently being harassed by halifax and w*nga who are tw@ts  they have the worse customer service ever and I've decided that I can't be doing with bothering them anymore as they are rude and ignorant and raise my blood pressure, I left about 8 messages over 3 days on their financial services answer-phone (dealing with dmps) to get them to contact me (apparently they are always busy and you have to leave a message and they will call you back) - then I get a text saying please contact us urgently if you haven't been in contact AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG. Plus two arguments with their customer services who wouldn't give me the number in the first place. AND they gave me fake names when I asked for them - Mr Lander and Mr Banker apparently Mr W@nker more like it. On the last message I told them I wouldn't call them again and they could see me in court.
All because they illegally declined my first CCCS payment
Sigh. On a happier note HSBC have frozen my interest - I don't know about anyone else as they haven't sent me any letters and have all banned me from checking online - despite Halifax telling me to do that, numpties.
Ah well, only a billion more years of this.
Happy Sunday everyone. :beer:0 -
Hi, I am in overdraft for £4000 with Halifax. I wrote a letter to them yesterday explaining my financial woes. They rang me today and will not charge any more interest for 6 months. Its £58 a month I'll be saving, will pay for some other bill! At least its something. The guy was lovely, from Customer Services.
I know you posted this a while back but did you just call them and say you were having problems could they help or did you go over your arranged limit? Did they default you prior to this?

Morning All
Hope you had a good weekend.
Welcome to the newbies.
Miss Priss hope your appointment went well. Bones, sounds like you are making really good progress.
Twitty, that's really useful information about statements, thank you.
Mrs Ryan, sounds like you have loads going on. Sorry to hear about the accident. Hope you get the compo sorted, usually takes ages and ages.
Oh dear, I take it you have the together NR mortgage? Read the T/Cs. I think its ok, its just if you settle the mortgage and not the loan that the loan rate goes through the month. I'd discuss with your dmp provider too.
Tooth Fairy, well done you! Celebrate away. The future will be black, not orange and certainly not red!!!!
Trance, Happy Birthday. What devils sending you that letter at the weekend. Is it defos or full of 'maybes'. Hope you get it sorted.
Me, am ok but seems to be thinking about money an awful lot still! Guess its as I'm thinking back to how I felt this time last year. In some ways am elated to be here, at other times I get a gloomy patch. Have been exploring the other site. If I had my time again I'd consider UE or self managed for sure! Regardless I'm in so much a better place mentally than I was last year and wanted to thank you all for that.
I'm still getting charged interest at £120 a month although tons better than it was previously. Seems harsh that the ones that give you hassle or charge interest are treated in the same way that the preditors that stop interest or dont bother you. I read somewhere it is to stop us prediciting their behaviour and 'playing' the system. I think with a credit record shot to pieces for 6 years after the end of DMP for most of us freezing interest is a reasonable exchange.
Got to the bottom of my credit report research, arrangements to pay and arrears are actually more damaging to the report as a default. Am going to keep hassling them to respond to my requests anyway. I wanted to move at some stage but looks like this will not be possible for at least 9 years now. Could be advantageous in some ways as the end to interest charges! Have been exploring the other site too, Niddy is truly genius. I think I have decided that as most my creditors are on board and I am 25% way through with 3 more years to go I will probably not go down the UE route. If however the other start charging interest again (constant worry for many of us I'm fairly sure) then I will do.
Enjoy the day peeps, here's to a short working week

Hey all. Haven't been in here in awhile, but we're trying to make sure we follow our budget and we always do better when I pop in frequently on this site, so here I am again. LOL
I'd say we're still self-managing our DMP, however, it's all wonky right now. We're making regular agreed payments on our OD, which the DCA agreed to our first offer of payment. We have a few debts that are UE, and we're still mulling over whether to use that as leverage to broker a lower F&F at some point in the future or simply sit out the limit for statute barred. We've paid off one account in full (by using the PPI reimbursement, which was actually more than the balance left). We have another account that is with a DCA, but we're waiting for decision on PPI reimbursement on that one, and hopefully they will reimburse and we can use that as a F&F on the amount with the DCA. Rather feel like we're juggling eggs at the moment, but at least it's all by post, which lowers the stress somewhat.
Hope everyone is doing well on their DMPs and in general!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
