ah thanks Twitty!! Yes, we can dream hey haha
I'm positive towards this year that more and more of the smaller debts will come to an end. You really do feel like you have achieved something really good when they do. It's been tough, a challenge like no other, and puts (if you've a partner) your relationship to the absolute test, but I truly feel good about it all, and CAN see that light.................................albeit a distance away!DFD February 2012

Is there anything else i can be doing im dreading the post arriving and dreading every phonecall. I know im just starting out but i am sooooo worried for what the future holds for me and my baby.
Hello and Welcome!
As Ian so recently said the best thing is to is read back some pages on this thread. We're all a very friendly lot on here and will try to help when we can.
Defaults are not as scary as they sound. Better soner than later on your accounts.
The set up is of your DMP is always the most difficult part. Your creditors are basicaly testing you to ascertain you are going to be paying them something back on a regular basis.
Try not to dread the post ( sooo difficult I know) Often creditors will just shoot out standard letters when you don't keep to your contracted payments. Some find it best to phone and explain the situation. Some, like me, prefer to write and keep copies of all letters. Keep in close touch with CCCS.
I know it sounds SO scary but after the first little while it will settle.
Look after yourself and the 'bump' - that's the most important thing.

I'm wishin' for you! I admire your resolve and hope doing it the 'cash for the week' way keeps you to the straight and narrow.
(And any gremlins hoping to upskittle you keep far away)
Once I've deducted all the D/Ds from my wages on being paid, I still find the debit card for the remainder works best for me (you can't take the plastic away from the girl!) for the fuel/ food part of the budget.
If it's cash in the purse it's accounted for and therefore 'free' money to spend....
Good luck, but always keep in mind 'value' baked beans are 0% VAT rated if you have times with more month than money

Well that cash is for my living expenses(!). Just broke though and went in my local for a pint - £1.30 during happy hour...
Debit cards are bad for me as I just spend spend spend (much like CCs)...DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi, as someone who is considering a DMP, is there anything to choose between CCCS and Payplan?
I've done a good bit of research and I can't see much between them.0 -

They are all much of a muchness. I only got referred to PayPlan by a third party advice centre (Through work!), and one of the main differences is how they calculate distribution of payments to each creditor.
Maybe speak to both and see who you like best at the end of the day?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
I've already posted tonight on Debt Free Wannabees to grovel and apologise for being a former poster who was doing so well on my snowball that I'd paid nearly half my £18k debt off in a year. Sadly I fell off the wagon, mainly due to depression but also being a muppet. Well I'm back, I owe about £25k now and finally tonight dug out my paperwork and (gulp) added it all up for my Payplan phonecall. This time I have less disposable income and a lot less energy to nearly kill myself with extra jobs. Therefore I need their help. I've also lost a lot of my fighting spirit
The lady was marvellous and listened patiently to my snivelling!! It's gonna take 9 years if interest frozen, another year over that if not. My big concern was a loan from my sister which she did to reduce my cc interest. She has been so helpful, I feel awful making her a creditor that will get half of the £50 a month I was paying her. Although I was told by the lady that they've allowed a very generous £100 a month more for food shopping than I actually usually spend so I can wangle it so I pay her a bit more than official figures.
I feel relieved but scared at the rocky road ahead. Looking for your support guys xxSecond and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0 -
Squirrel, that's really good of them, i have a loan from mum and it was included in my outgoings too0

quick question, our dmp officially started on the 1st January and our payment has gone out to CCCS. However, on new years eve we received a letter and halifax have passed my OH's account onto blair westcott and oliver is it? saying we will send people round your house, or apply for a ccj or take you to court blah blah blah. I am assuming this is a pretty standard letter??? Anyway I will pass this onto CCCS tommorow to make them aware, shall I also write to these people? I wouldnt mind but I believe that halifax were going to get the biggest payment anyway!!!!!! bloody creditors. On a brighter note Next have accepted already and I got confirmation in the post today:j
If anyone could give me some advice on this DCA I would appreciate it. thanks
