lady in front of me kicked up a stink and demanded to speak to a manager, who came out to the till and gave her a full refund
I absoultely hate and find it total disgusting when mangers used to do this to me when I used work on tills. It should be outlawed to tell your employed to do one thing then go and do a complete opposite.
It just makes the poor CA look like a right T*****R when all there trying to do is follow company rules. If the CA had just given into the Customer demanding they would have got shouted at by the manger.0 -

What are my rights if the underwear is faulty?
My daughter ordered a bra online from Asda, It came at the beginning of June.
She has worn it once for her prom but was uncomfortable all night because one of the wires started to stick out and the bra started to fall apart.
Asda customer services were hopeless, they understand it was not fit for purpose but terms and conditions say underwear, regardless of it being faulty.
I don't want to return my daughter just wants her money back.
Where do we stand?0 -
There are no exemptions to your legal statutory rights. If a product is faulty the Sales of Goods Act covers it and the item should be repaired, replaced or refunded, depending on timescales.
It doesn't matter one iota that the garment has been worn/used/whatever......You are fully entitled to a refund!0 -
Thoughts of underwear and "kicking up a STINK" don't give me appetising thoughts as I'm about to cook dinner.0

Hi, I think you'll find that you have a very strong case for getting the money refunded. Underwear, especially knickers and pants, are not usually able to be returned for hygiene reasons, but if the item is faulty that's another matter altogether.
When displaying what their refund and exchange policy is, shops usually state that 'this does not affect your statutory rights', well your 'statutory rights' as a consumer are that if an item is not fit for its intended purpose, then you are, by law, entitled to a full refund by whatever method you used to purchase the item. They've admitted that the bra was not fit for its intended purpose, therefore they are breaking the law by saying that they will not refund. Quote the law to them, and refuse to accept anything less than a full refund.
BTW although most stores do allow refunds or exchanges for non faulty items, for the sake of goodwill, you are not legally entitled to a refund or exchange on non faulty goods.
Good luck

Just thought I'd add here - Mand S allow you to try knickers on in the shop "as long as you keep your own on underneath". Now they can't enforce or police this so it's possible any pair on the shelf has already been tried on...
As an aside I always wash new underwear before wearing anyway so that it's free from any dirt or chemicals etc from transportation or production.
It's only a game
