Thank you for your post identity :)

Try the refresh button Beanie. It brings back the thanks buttons but not SW's pictures.

    Morning everyone,

Have just been reading all the posts, and it makes me feel quite mad - and sad!

I am wondering whether you are right Pixie, and it is the financial institutions' way of getting their own back. As you say, this UE thing must have cost the banks an absolute packet!

Regarding the IP issue, it looks as if this has been addressed in other posts. But, presumably if the person or persons is/are that determined, they can find other ways of connecting - friends or relatives ISP, Internet cafes, libraries - plus, if they are banks, the opportunity is going to be far greater.

What does concern me is the fact that a whole thread has been removed. Let's hope that is just a technical hitch with, as previously mentioned, the result of someone pressing the wrong button. Hopefully, if that is the case MSE can get it back!
Of course, we should report the trolls but think we also need to be prepared for MSE to only have limited powers in this.

I would like to propose that we do not give the trolls the satisfaction of knowing they are getting to us by replying to them, or even mentioning their posts. In othe words deny them the "oxygen of publicity"!

I think the best - and most useful - thing we can do has already been agreed. Those of us who have a little experience of UE will post on Niddy's original thread and pool our collective wisdom to help others, thereby continuing Niddy's tradition. And I am NOT even suggesting that any or all of us could replace Niddy himself. I also think we should give an undertaking not to stray "off topic" on that thread - I know Niddy laughed at us gossiping on here, but I do have a feeling he wasn't keen on it on his own thread. Anyway, we want to save all the good gossip for this thread, don't we - not dilute it in any way! Perhaps we may get some additional visitors from the UE thread.

Well that's my 10p - for what it's worth. And I was hoping things would be better this morning!

    What thread?

No threads/posts are ever removed in such a way that they cannot be restored if needed.

The thread that was removed (Sub Prime Credit Card) is now back up and running. It was closed down temporarily because people clicked the spam button as well as the abuse button.

With trolls, you should always ignore them as a reaction is what they want. Make sure you report them though. (not each individual post as I did last night as I got a mild rebuke from the admin people!! :o)
