Just received my post for today,
Apparently M&S have decided that they don't my custom any more, and have written to tell me that I will not be insured with them after July 24!
Have just been on the comparison sites but am wondering if M&S have cross-referenced the query to their credit card department, who I have ****ed off!
Not sure whether anyone can advise me on whether these insurance companies do a credit check before accepting you as a policy holder? I am NOT asking for monthly repayments (I wouldn't dare!) just a straightforward policy. Any advice would be welcome.
Is this for your car insurance Ann?
I think we came to the conclusion before that the different departments within M & S Financial Services shared information, even if they're not meant to.
I'm not sure if they do credit checks or not - I didn't think so. I know that when I bought my house insurance online I was asked if I was bankrupt - but you're not!
All I can suggest is that you try and get insurance and see what happens. I think someone on the Bankruptcy board suggested going into a local brokers.
I'd try and buy online - and go through Topcashback or Quidco. I got £70 cashback when I took out my car insurance policy. Check prices on the comparison sites, choose which policy you want, clear your browsing history, then go on to cashback site to buy the insurance.0 -

I love this site. capitalist firms must be quaking. In economics there is an ideal type of society called perfect competition where consumer's are sovereign and they have the power over firms as they have access to perfect information and can make the most rational decisions.
This site is art in motion! For the first time, we are moving towards this ideal. Still a long way to go but MSE definitely helps!Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
