    Hi mouseann

Please don't apologise. I think SW picked up on it when she visited our thread, 'cos obviously the girls on there know what has been happening. I have kept it very quiet at work, so at least when I am busy there I can at least push it to the back of my mind. And if I have to have a bit of a moan or a worry moment, the the girls on Geezers and Gals help me out.!! We are hoping for a very positive outcome, and son himself is really upbeat about the whole thing, which I really admire him for. It really puts the money worries on another level.

    Hi Elsie

Best wishes to DS..... fingers crossed - wishing him the best of luck (which is what is needed).... :o:o

    Thanks Niddy.

The prognosis on the cancer he has is very good, so its deinitely fingers, toes and everything else crossed. He is in his 30's and handling it brilliantly, (better than his mum really), but I think you always worrry more when its your kids.

Glad the prognosis is good - everything is crossed so no worries there..... you have our support in the background.

Aaaw bless, thing is though it is every parents worst nightmare, having to bury a child - it really shouldn't work that way, i.e. the kids should be burying us! :rotfl: You know what I mean, the laugh is to the irony of it, ermmm - i'd rather just live forever and be a fussy/moany old git myself

In his 30's - eeek, that is young! Well we're all here thinking about him, and as for you - stop worrying! :p

Perhaps we should have a "not the World Cup party" when England are playing. But, I am out for the day on Saturday and don't expect to be back until very late - so perhaps we can have one when England next play, whenever that is. I suspect we may have to have it very soon, as I think that England are not expected to survive for long! Apologies in advance to all England/football fans - are these two concepts mutually exclusive?

I suspect you're joining forces with Niddy Ann!!!

I won't be at any "not the World Cup" parties because I will be cheering on England. :)

I'm not sure if I'll be watching the matches in the pub or at home. If it's the pub, I'll be singing all the songs/chants (even some of the "naughty" ones.) Wherever I'm watching, I'll be wearing my England shirt (an old one because I can't afford a new one.)

I'm putting up my big England flag outside my house tomorrow.

    Come on En-ger-land!!!

  • Sorry if that seemed insensitive (post #125) when Niddy had just posted a serious post but they overlapped :(

I've already sent Elsie my best wishes. We're thinking about you.

Thanks for being so honest, Elsie!

You and, of course, your son are in my thoughts! And I quite understand re the perspective level - it makes you realise that your health is one of the most precious things you can have - and that it can't be bought - even for love, let alone money!

    Big hugs!

    I'll second that, Niddy!

And part of the job description of a parent is that you never, ever stop worrying about your children - it is just the type of worry that changes!

    Sorry Pixie,

My earlier post was very unpatriotic!

    Apologies to all England fans!
