thnx op I got some headphones and there was noway they would notice such thing as it makes sense, the player has some clever bits like telephone no.s and reading of text files as if anyone will ever use it for that. because of this I might in future buy itronics items like the 1GB model at 29.99 seems like argos mostly sels these players.

128mb is nothing but for nowt thats a differnt story, I wont even buy 128mb for 5iver
p.s you will only find 128mb small if you have used 1gb player or seen your friends and see how many songs it holds,
you will love it if you only have about 3 cds that you listen on rotational basis or you are not fussy about quality and will happily listen to something at 16kbs 11hz (talk show etc) ** or you are student and need to keep your pdfs and doc files with you.

btw can I ask was the battery packed or just loose in yours people, as in mine it was loose and it looked leaked I threw it away and washed my hands luckly other items were in plastic bags.

Here is a review of similer model same company so but youl get the idea.

Went to the Argos in Totton Southampton yesterday put in the code the mp3 showd 2 in stock at 999.99p each, Oh well.

last saturday a friend went to a branch on leeds road in huddersfield. the mp3 player showed up as 0.00. he ordered it with a another item. unfortunately the staff was aware of this and told him he can't have it. he tried the other two branches in town but unfortunately they did not have a quick pay terminal.

oh well

moral of the story - act very damn quick next time :-(

Finally got around to visiting Argos and put this code into the stock checker thingy in store. It is also showing up as 999.99p! Thanks to the OP for passing on the info, next time I will be queueing up as this moneysaving, bargain spotting is getting quite addictive!

i have just managed to get one of thesew mp3 players through the ordinary till, buy buying some ipod speakers and saying the mp3 player was a free gift with it. there were two in stock so might go back tomorrow to get the other one.
