And I cannot believe someone driving from Oxfordshire to Plymouth needs to stop on the way....

What is it? 5-6 hour drive? Maybe stop for a coffee or three , but overnight!!

Sorry, just seems a bit of overkill

They're driving to Cornwall and wanted to stop in Plymouth. It's not overkill, besides are going to Penzance so that's another couple of hours added on!

There is a sign up near Wadebridge Tesco ,another Travelodge being built.
We have just had a week of £9 rooms courtesy of them, including Hayle, whitsun week and glorious sunshine to boot.

Our holiday starts on a Saturday in August. Unless we start off very early in the morning, which we don't want to do, the traffic is horrendous. This way we travel down on much emptier roads, sleep well & then have a leisurely breakfast, get past the traffic 'hotspots' before the queues build up AND have a full day in Cornwall to enjoy. It works for us.
BTW - if we visit at any other time of year we do it in one go with a quick coffee stop although I have done Camborne to home non-stop in 3 1/2 hours!!

Sorry shegirl, was referring to BillTrac's message in the above reply but managed to quote yours by mistake!
And thanks to true27 for reassuring review of the Victoria.
